Jamar, Crowley, Stokes, Kelly and Polkinghorne are all pretty handy rejects, and the 2 years on an AFL list is an AFL requirement which doesn't necessarily make it right. It just sucks they get found guilty of systemic drug cheating and then get the red carpet treatment to top up their list. I think they should have to travel by bus to all their interstate games, have the hot water facilities withdrawn for showers, wear fluoro yellow shirts stating they are drug cheats from Essendon FC and knock on the doors of every house in Melbourne explaining and apologising for what they did. Then we would have laid the foundations where we could start with the punishment.
On another tack, have the AFL now set a precedent for clubs whose players are found guilty of drug cheating by allowing these top ups?
Lets also consider, Essendon have (had) 42 players on their club list, 12 have been suspended leaving 30 on the list. I think maybe giving them 5 or 6 top up players may have been fair whilst delivering more of a punishment. Remember the year Harvey got his marching orders from Freo? For half that season Freo had about 30 players available for selection and the AFL gave us jack in the way of top ups. Essendon cheated and all the concern from AFL TV cash central is over how they will recover, who gives a rat's.
