What ultimately brought Lance Armstrong down was the number of willing snitches.
Betty Andrieu (wife of a team mate) was never believed - she hated Lance apparently and her husband had been sacked from the powerful US Postal Service Team. She was mocked for years by all and sundry.
When Floyd Landis came out he was pillared, mocked, called a liar, had a axe to grind and pulverised by the media.
Then Tyler Hamilton with similar stories came out the wheel started to turn albeit slowly.
In the end with over 20 former teammates prepared to talk including Lances right hand man George Hincapie the empire crumbled and Lance was outed for the cheat, bully and enforcer he is now known as.
Cmon former Eagles (I wont name them ) we all know who they are....Who will be the next to come out?
All the former teammates of Lance that confessed said the turning point was when they were lead into a small room, told that lying under oath was a crime, a sheriffs badge and gun was placed on the table so they realised they were dealing with the highest of authorities.
Will there ever be a proper investigation?
