Hmm, probably need some clarity on whether they should be issued with a show cause notice. Apparently there's a 10 year statute of limitation with this.

As it reads, one of the drugs is/was a banned drug (prednisone), but those players had permission to use it because of their asthma condition, but Chick's admitting that they were taking much larger doses, it seems specifically on game day, and he also admits that club staff were hiding players when it came to drug testing.

Does that make its use intentionally performance enhancing?

Interesting comments about club doctors offering Sudafeds at half time. Sudafeds contain psuedoephedrine, which is a banned stimulant known for its performance enhancing properties. A Swans player was banned for two years for failing a doping test because he took Sudafeds on game day.

I find it interesting that the club doctors could offer this on game day knowing that if any player was tested they would get a two year ban for doping. So, you wouldn't do that unless you were very certain that the players were not going to be tested, would you?

As for the 'not tainted' aspect, once you admit to club doctors providing banned PEDs at half time, it doesn't get any more tainted. On that admission alone, the AFL has sufficient grounds to remove the premiership but you can bet your bottom dollar that nothing is going to happen

Predictably, the reaction from Eagles fans on social media is to attack Chick for being a dobber, and The West & Herald Sun for being complicit in a Hawks-led conspiracy to derail WC's tilt for the flag in a few days. Also mention made of Chick arriving at WC from Hawthorn (presumably bringing a drug culture with him and corrupting poor Cousins, Kerr et al.)
Many are saying it's ancient history anyway and has no bearing on the current squad. The point people are missing is that while the '06 players have moved on, the staffers who supplied the drugs and hid players from drug testers may still be at the club. The timing is provocative but the story is newsworthy.

Well done Chick for coming out. It reminds me very much of Floyd Landis taking down Lance Armstrong and his team of systematic cheats and back door henchman. If you abandon somebody that has a lot of negative info that could ruin you, well they deserve all they get.
