Quite amazing the effect Fyfey winning the Brownlow and more so his speech has had in gee-ing us all up after Friday. It's come at a really needed time for the whole club. He is a brilliant individual and all power to him.
His fortitude and mental toughness with his broken leg even continued tonight making up his way up to the dias after it seemed like Mickey Barlow broke his cane!
Those of us that witnessed his effort on Friday night will tell it to our grand kids.
For a quote ...think of the scene in Lawrence of Arabia in which Lawrence puts out a match with his thumb and forefinger. A character named William Potter tries to do the same thing and of course burns his fingers. 'Ow! It damn well hurts!' Potter squawks. 'Certainly it hurts,' says Lawrence. 'Well, what's the trick then?' Potter asks. 'The trick, William Potter,' comes Lawrence's reply, 'is not minding that it hurts.'
