I for one am worried. First there's Mundy, Hill, Neale and Barlow and now most likely Bennell. How is Fyfe going to complete his wall of Brownlow's with so many incredible players taking votes off him. He'll just have to settle for 3 or 4 Charlie's if we get Harley.

After the Richmond family meeting, "Choc" Williams was at a breakfast function and was talking up how much he was looking forward to working with Bennell and that it was going to happen. (this was tweeted by the Herald Sun reporter Jay Clarke and since deleted) That was until he got into the office and he got the update; Bennell wasn't looking forward to working with him and them. What could have gone wrong? It was all going great until they left him alone with Dusty. . (Ive got a fair idea)

"Following discussions last week, Richmond has decided at this point it is not in a position to offer Harley Bennell a playing contract,"

Other clubs publicly stating no interest or won't be making an offer are just trying to talk down freos coup and refute that Freo may now be considered a desireable destination. It's probably a combo of sour grapes, taking a chance to talk down an opposition club and trying to manage their own players that may be considering s move.

Freo should do it whenever a name comes up for trade.

I couldn't think of a better club for Harley Bennell to be associated with than Freo. With highly respected indigenous players like Hill, Johnson and Walters (not to mention Roger) with whom he can confide and seek support and advice Bennell can now show us the terrific talent he is without the distractions.

I think a second round pick and Jack Hannath should get the deal done. Seriously, Harley's a pick 2 in the draft. He's a star. I think the leadership at Freo is going to be beneficial to both parties and that is why I think our new captain and Browlow Medallist Nat Fyfe is going to have a big influence in getting WA players back home playing for Freo. Oh and Pav will play on in 2016, mentoring Nat.
