When Harley met Ross
Fremantle has been reassured of Harley Bennell's determination to become a top-line player after Dockers coach Ross Lyon met the jettisoned Gold Coast star.
The Age reports that Lyon and Bennell had a chat in Perth on Tuesday, and the experience allayed some of the Dockers' concerns over Bennell's focus.
Freo appears the only suitor for Bennell, but former Adelaide skipper Chris McDermott believes the Crows should launch a bid for the brilliant midfielder/forward as a replacement matchwinner for Patrick Dangerfield.
"Due diligence must be done before he is invited in or allowed to pass to another club, but when you talk indigenous players, few clubs have had a better success rate over the past 25 years than the Crows," McDermott wrote in his column in The Advertiser.
