I find it difficult to explain in words but despite the wins, possibly in spite of them, something has gone missing from the Club since Ross Lyon rocked up.
Whether it's the sterility of the unwavering belief that if you get your systems right everything else takes care of itself. Or the infuriating constant dismissal of every single quarter-brained, half-brained or full-brained football commentator who suggests you need to kick higher scores to beat the best and therefore be the best. Or the wicked corporatisation of the "people's club". Or something else, I'm not sure.
But there's a chunk of the soul not there and I don't have one iota of feeling that it could be found within the next twenty years to win this thing.
I'll just have another drink but I don't think what Ross needs can be found in a bottle.
