The game tonight reminded me of the final that Freo smashed Geelong in Melbourne. I believe that was the start of the end of their domination of finals and the Hawks looked that way tonight. The WCE played well tonight but are not a seasoned finals side. Pressure and experience in handling those really big games will tell on a young side. They play in front of a home crowd again next game then if they make it to the GF, they travel to the MCG, that will be the real test.

Umpires or no umpires, I don't believe Freo could have beaten that tonight.

The transition game was awesome.

It's Freo with added scoring ability and extra shut down speed.

It is also a big, big worry.

Hawthorn were at their worst. They looked slow and they couldn't break the shackles. Some of their players had a bad night. Reminds me of the Freo v Hawks GF replay at the MCG (round 3) last year. Nothing went right for us and this happened to the Hawks tonight.

Playing at Subi is a massive advantage. Both have lost only 1 game to interstaters this year. And each won a derby this year, though the aggregate scores between the 2 Derbies favour Freo. Should a Derby eventuate in the next few weeks, most would pick the budgies. Though I think Hawks losing tonight has done us a huge favour. Some would say it's going according to script.

So win or lose we play at Subi there's no travelling unless it's to play the GF at the MCG. Is that the script?
RL says the opposition teams have to play at their best to beat us. I think we would've beaten the Hawks tonight. The boys will be ready if there's another Derby to be played this year and there's a lot of footy still to be played in 2015.
