bpurple,

add to that Freo got beaten by a team that played like crap and won't even finish in the eight. So, are you conceding the flag to the slime then?

Edit: Correction, they'll likely finish eighth and go out in the first week

i) if we don't fix the turnover problem from unforced errors the season will be over quickly
ii) I think at this stage it's ok to be pi55ed off with the result that we coughed up
iii) resting players may be a luxury we can no longer afford

Resting players? Our best 22 can't beat WC or Hawthorn on current form. As someone stated, they've had 10 weeks and minimal loss of players to right the ship after getting dumped by Richmond at home. Nothing has got better.

I'll be surprised if we go further than our double chance. We're looking like the poorest team in the top 8.

Phew I am on the right web site for a while their I thought I was on that other flying high jobby.
Just so I have this right :
I our team is crap
II our coaches are crap
III our recruitment is crap
IV our development staff are crap
V our selection panel comprise Stevie Wonder , Ray Charles and Hellen Keller.
I give in with those facts staring me down we are finished and it's time to watch the run into the V8 supercar final rounds.

i) It is better to finish top of the ladder than finish 2nd. You get favours like an extra day in the 1st week of the finals and you avoid Hawthorn 1st up.

Ii) Unless both WA teams either both win, or both lose, their QFs, there will in all likelihood be a Derby PF.

iii) Unless both WA teams lose their QFs, neither have to travel in the finals until the GF.

iv) Regardless of where they finish on the ladder (or where or who they play), if Hawthorn win their QF, they don't have to travel interstate for the rest of the finals.

v) WCE are no more guaranteed of winning against Adelaide than Freo are against Port.

So please stop with the WCE "juggernaut", Freo to finish 3rd or other negative crap because none of it is going to happen.

I learnt we are playing like a top 4 side, perhaps not the top side. Therefore, we're in with a decent shake of taking the premiership! We just need to find our confidence.

Thought first quarter was very solid. North got a few messy goals to stay in it but Freo looked on and heading for a good win. Dominated 2nd quarter but no scoreboard pressure, left the door wide open. North wanted it more in second half. Skills and finishing were poor. Non mark to A Pearce in the forward 50 when 2 goals up was the turning point. They rebound and score one of their own. Losing 2 games in a row hurts worse than 1. We travelled, without Pav, after a derby, with some poor skills, against a team who has to win its last 3 to guarantee finals, and lost by 2 goals. Sounds about right.

They tagged Stephen Hill out of the game. Hill had been our best and most consistent player since Fyfe got kneed by Mitchell. Unfortunately the tagging was simply just holding the man and Hill was not rewarded with a free, despite having three times kicked the ball out of mid-air without being able to use his arms as they were being held on each occasion. Commentary suggested it should not have been given as a stat. No. A clear free might have helped though. I guess they tagged the right bloke this week and were allowed away with it.

Maybe I'm imagining this but I seem to remember Hawthorn lost, in Melbourne, earlier on the weekend. And didn't the the slime drop a home game a couple of weeks ago.

This is a potential blessing in disguise. We can beat Melbourne without Pav, rest up for the Port game, finish second on the table, play the Hawks without Hodge at home, admittedly in a must win game, then watch the Hawks and slime destroy each other in the preliminary. Easy.

i) This is just depressing. Top of the ladder and no-one gives us a chance.
ii) Fyfe!
iii) It's going to be interesting from here on.
iv) I don't understand how you can play such a great quarter and then just fade out. Are the boys running out of steam?
v) Living in a two team town, when the OOFTIT is WC, is the pits.
vi) I thought we had this, but after yesterday's effort, I am not so sure.
vii) I hope Ross' plan includes an end of season resurgence.

i) I learnt I had to rejig my memory and look at last 6 rounds we played before finals 2013, I then remembered we were creaming it. Does that mean anything in comparison this year in the fact that in 2013 we did not finish top two...I'm not sure!?
