Maybe the Dogs got scared when they saw Masten patrolling the boundary at half time

In the current field of top 6 sides, if you haven't the ability to maximise your inside 50s and kick goals your peeing in the wind if you think we can win the GF. Hawks, Toast, Dogs, Tigers and Swans all have big Kpp who can cause havoc and kick the 3-5 to make the difference to win, all else being equal which I suggest is the case.

The biggest disappointment today? That i have to finally concede that the Slime are actually contenders for the flag this year...i haven!t given up hope for us yet, but very thought that they may win the premiership instead of us is beyond depressing...

Finishing on top at the end of the season and claiming the "minor premiership" means basically nothing. finishing 1st or 2nd now has the same benefits anyway having a home final and a double chance. Just gives us more satisfaction if Wet Toast finish on top and lose their first final, of better still both

Slime haven't been toe to toe in a hard fought defensive finals like game all year. They will wilt like daisies whether it's Sydney, Hawks or us they encounter. But I digress, and repeat, who gives a rats arse about them.

I am the most glass half full supporter we have.

Up until today I though our performances were man management as we head towards finals.

I am no longer convinced.

I will take the win against Melbourne and reassess from there.

We must continue to work on our skills, although our goal kicking hurt, turnovers in the centre of the ground in transition cost us more. I know we want to play on at all cost but the cost was too high today.
I was wrong about Mzungu his turnovers were unacceptable.
I hope i didn't learn that the AFL is contractually obligated to play 1 Preliminary Final at the MCG. I thought they changed that rule, but according too Spud Frawley doesnt apply to Prelim. If this is the case then Top spot takes on higher importance.

Down on down What I learnt: Round 21 8 years 7 months ago #68

Down on down
i.The wheels have well and truly fallen off and anyone else who says otherwise is deluded or wears rose coloured glasses.
ii.We have had over 10 rounds since the Richmond loss to fix our playing style, game plan and skills and have done bugger all about it . We are now exposed big time.
iii. Danyle Pearce is a dead set crab who should not be allowed anywhere inside the 50m arc unless he is playing for Peel.
iv.I would have thought we would have improved the art of goal kicking after the 2013 G/F loss, obviously not.
v. If ever there is a team that doesn't bury the opposition it is us, we give the opposition a sniff by the continued second half fade outs. I hate the slime as much as anyone but they know how to kick away from their opponents when given the chance.

I don't give a rats whether we finish 1st or 2nd but what I do give a rats about is actually winning and taking good form into the finals. How can a side on top of the ladder look so unthreatening?
Can you name a side in the top eight that is playing worse than us?

Western Bulldogs
They got flogged by ten goals and dropped two places on the ladder. They were not in the game after half time. Hawthorn
Lost to a team not even in the eight on Friday. Never looked like they were in the game at any stage.
