I agree Roly wont drop A Pearce. He needs to see what shape his Love Child is in and he wants to play in the finals 3 talls plus Ibbo. So Johnno, Elvis plus either The Fist OR A Pearce. Its time to play with the three talls in the back to see if this structure will work. At the beginning of the year the pundits were saying Freo were doing well as we had gained run out of the back line as the Fist wasn't playing. Time to sort this out once and for all as we only have 6 weeks left to experiment.

I think footy department may have set this game and game against the Dees in Subi down the track as the two games to rest a couple. Fyfey gets this one, maybe Mundy gets that one amongst others such as Luke.

Would really like a look of Blakely in the bigs so good luck to him getting out there on Sunday.

I'm going to show some love to langdon and say ed langdon to debut.. only coz no one else has.

Will be interesting to see what they do with dawson. I don't see any sense of him starting on the bench, and its not as if GWS are going in really tall with their back line either. So if he does come in, will that mean A Pearce will be tasked with more of a rebound role ala AA Johnno.

Sutcliffe on the wing.. Guess ross got tired of him turning the ball over in defense.. so let him turn it over a bit further up the field instead.

Roly may be looking at using Pearce in the MJ role as cover come finals time. I think his aerial skills, reading of the play and recovery and ground play suit the role. It is time to find out whether his decision making in that key role, and disposal to advantage under pressure can stand up. It would make us much more unpredictable with 2 options as outlet players come finals time, and would provide cover should we cop injury or suspension.

Timmeh I have to stand up for Sutcliffe following your sledge - his decision to come off his man in the dying minutes last week and spoil a certain mark / set shot was huge! Great stuff.

Having said that, the way the Tigers were kicking it probably would have just meant we won by 3 pts rather than 4.

Just as an aside, I've had enough of the "Tigers kicked themselves out of a game they deserved to win" line. Sure you notice the posters, but I think we butchered as many should have/ could have shots at goals as they did. Haven't got the stats, but I suspect much of the 18 pts v 10 pts discrepancy was due to a huge number of Richmond rushed behinds.

In any case, it's all part of the "Freo are gawn" line being peddled about. When you have to confront the inconvenient fact that, since our first loss, we're 5-1 (and who gets to beat Hawthorn in Tassie right now?), you have to come up with rubbish like this.

It's like saying Travis Cloke would be a great full-forward if he could kick straight. No he wouldn't - because he can't.
