that article is a cracker, and I'm sure some of the posters supporting the Weevil fans haven't read it. So here's the concluding lines, for good measure:

The fact that you fuel your own sense of outrage at Goodes and Lewis Jetta's "war dance" shows how feeble minded and self righteous you are.

Where's your sense of outrage at the appalling gap in life expectancy for indigenous people?

The massive over representation of indigenous people in jail?

The continuing scourge of deaths in custody?

Your silence is deafening on those issues. Your outrage reserved for a man who dances on the footy field.

And whilst you're booing ever louder and ever longer you can try drown out the truth of these things.

You can't. And you won't.

Because Adam Goodes' legacy will endure long after your hollow howls ring out.

And that must hurt the most.

Watch the game again FD. Goodes did not touch anyone before the first boo came his way. Wc just made a statement condemning the booing which is good of them. Minority though? C'mon if less than half is a minority then maybe. It was so loud, it was pathetic, moronic and plain embarrassing. The coach didn't like it, the players didn't like it, yet before the club said a thing, every wc post you saw defended that behaviour. Not suprising really.

Barry Hall hit the nail on the head, they are ferals. Chris Scott's comments were pretty revealing as well. The indignation Slime fans showed when Judd, Cousins, Waters and others copped a few boos in derbies is very quickly forgotten. They don't seem to hate some of the other noted dirty players in the comp, BBBB is probably the only other player who has lived in the memory of slime fans. They wont even remember who Vickery is next time the Tigers play them.

I guess its how you like your indigenous players.
Quiet, conforming and out of sight or loud and proud and standing up for issues that matter to them?

Loud and proud please and if SonSon can throw in a couple of war dance calibrations you will see a very a very big proud smile on this white anglo face.

Who the F is R34 with the hugely intelligent question, Do the Eagles supporters boo any of their own indigenous players? No"
A couple of things for you to note, in case you hadn't worked it out.
i. People rarely if ever boo their own players, especially to the extent that was shown on the weekend.
ii. The slime's record of choosing and developing indigenous players would not be one that is highly regarded for a start.
iii. I bet the few indigenous players at the club must be so proud of their supporters and really feel welcomed .

"Do the Eagles ever boo any of their own players?".

They do, as Rowan Jones can attest.

That article in the herald sun where Barry Hall says "the Eagles should take it as a compliment" that he knocked out their village idiot, that just makes me smile.
I think those oxygen thieves are in for a rude shock over the next few rounds. Lets just hope all the Hawks players come down with small pox when they play the eagles (save that for the finals). The purple karma bus is getting the axles greased and the bull bar polished to sort out the dirty birds.

Look I'm one of the first to sink the boots into budgie fans but suggesting there's even a motive behind their booing is like suggesting a school of jelly fish has a well documented itinerary for their ocean travels.

Fellow Dockers this going to be hard to believe but there are other freo supporters who believe that Goodsy is just a attention seeking flog who brings this on himself .I understand that in this particular instance it was the weegirls booing and we can’t go in to bat for them , however the Goodes love here is somewhat overwhelming that I’m feeling a little ill .
Some middle ground is called for so can’t we just Boobag both of them .

So the defense is that they relentlessly booed Goodes because he allegedly ruffled some Eagles feathers ON the field. How strange that the fans' collective moral compass didn't extend to booing Chris Masten for his indiscretions OFF the field ... and I suppose we can expect Murray Newman will be harangued from the oval by those righteous pillars of society when he next appears in blue & yellow ... right?

Sorry Rails, but I don't accept that someone who stands up to racist abuse is "attention-seeking". No one should have to put up with that on a footy field or a workplace or anywhere else. The respect (and media attention) he has received is as a result of him calling out the racist knuckleheads on the other side of the fence. He's not just getting booed. Remember the 13-year-old girl? Are you one of the people who think SHE was the victim because he embarrassed her? He can't win, can he?

Far Out! What an array of opinions on the whole incident.

I thought A, Goodes was being booed for his controversial celebratory dance at the Carlton game.
But hang on. That was weeks ago. Isn't everyone past that.
Wet toast fans, you were already winning the game.
Why boo someone, who's probably already had half the country condemn him. How can you belittle
yourself like that. Shame! You are an embarrassment to the whole footy fan world. Your reputation has been
shot to bits, and I thought only Collingwood had that title.

White Coast Fans. Hahaha. I love it.

I think there's plenty of grey here.

Goodes has turned into a free-scrounging old chuffer, and deserves boos for playing for them so blatantly and taking cheap shots, with equal impunity. I'd boo Harvey or Stagey for the same reasons. I see nothing wrong in the footy boo, and find it offensive people bring race into it.

Then there's elements of the crowd that boo and vilify. It's depressing to hear this goes on post-Winmar. I haven't heard any in my 20 years on the pine. Maybe my seats aren't cheap enough, even though they feel it.

But to lump the two together is lazy journalism at its worst, in search of an easy headline. We love to bag WC supporters, I live for such small and important pleasures, but I find it hard to believe it's nothing other than a minority who are racist.

The Richmond game was a wall of booing. Have any of our Aboriginal players said the same happened to them? If it does, they should rightly say so. But if the AFL and media think they can lump booing and racism together with no discretion, then they're just looking for an easy solution to a deep and scattered problem.

Hard subject to comment on because it is so emotive, is there an element of Racism? Absolutely. Was the original incident that started the whole debate with the 13 year old girl racist? Likely but not certain. My brother in law is hairy and 6ft 4, white and, some would say some what resembling an Ape. This is what has so many people upset I think, because their was an absolute determination that the comment was based on race.
At this point in time though I think there is probably enough people that are booing based upon race, that I personally would not participate, and add my voice to theirs.
I would hope that our crowd would not boo, and suspect that if we were leading would be too busy cheering to bother with booing. Their are of course some exceptions, these would include the clearly biased umpires and Brent Harvey.
