Well, I guess I mentioned that because we have Taberner there too. But I thought one of the failings around the stoppages against Hawthorn was that we flipped the handpasses around a lot trying to get people on their kicking side for the perfect kick in and Hawthorn would just close it down or put the Fremantle player on his wrong side.

We had the ball locked in the forward 50 for the majority of the first quarter but it always seemed we were going backwards in circles at stoppages.

This is what makes Mitchell so good, when he can hit a target off one step, left or right foot.

Well, as Shane mentioned somewhere Hawthorn are playing the way they are because they actually have to right now. They're fighting to be in the 4. They're desperate.

They are, actually, playing with the sort of frenzied eat the fluffy bit out of a low flying duck hunger that Freo had earlier in the season.

the same Freo that are playing now.

Same players. Same coaches.

I'm surrounded by some pretty low rent supporters of other teams where I work. Personally, I don't really take too much notice of their mumble fuq routines. I recommend that. Watch various experts flip flop frantically from week to week as teams win or lose. There's no point in taking note of most of them. Roly, as much as I hated to admit it early on after his hiring, looks to know what he's doing. The players look to know what they're on about. They have cards up sleeves. Hawthorn's are on the table.

As far as that incredibly dopey comment about 'a better team would have beaten us', the same could said for the egirls. Indeed for any club playing last weekend. A better club could have beaten all of them, including Hawthorn.

As for the slime, they got up over a side that lost its best goal kicker and it second best early in the game. A better side would have beaten them. That applies to all the times those flat track bullies have been put up against low end sides this year due to the really soft draw.....based on them being crap. They still have the face teams in the top four. We faced all 3 other teams in the top 4 and won 2 and lost one. They've faced a top 4 team once....and got smashed and they have 2 more to go over the next few weeks.

I reckon Richmond is still a chance to push them into fifth.

Some of the umpires we seem to get would be likely to award 50s against us for his off-field activities, but what's new.

Morgan, the main concern with Crozier is his ability to run out a strong 4 quarters.

He is very much an impact player and is used that way by Roly. This season he has played 5 games - starting sub three times, subbed off mid way through the Collingwood game and only one full game (v Gold Coast). He has a total of 36 disposals to his name for the entire season.

DJKL and Jason, Duffy has a calf injury and is unavailable for 2-3 weeks.

The reality is Duffy will never play another game for Freo. This is his third year on the senior list and to date he has played 2 games, both as the starting sub. The sum total of his AFL career amounts to 48 minutes of game time.

This season he's kicked a total of 15 goals for Peel in 12 games, including two bags of 4. Unfortunately he follows his good games with some real shockers. His biggest problem is a lack of defensive pressure (16 tackles in 12 games) - a career killer in a Roly coached team.

I wasn't overly concerned about Ballas, injury. It's terrible for the guy but his form has been the worst I can remember. Forcing Ross's hand to play a new forward structure might be a blessing in disguise. Hawthorn are on fire right now, sustaining it will be tough. Freo must learn to be the hunter again rather than the hunted, starting this week. They have time to turn it around.
