There is too much to be gained from a win this week to rest any of our players from this one. Hawks, toilet and the Swans all play each other in the next 5 weeks, so a win this weekend against the poo-wees:
(i) makes a top 2 finish for us all the more likely
(ii) makes the top 4 all the more wobbly for them - and they are the team I'd least like us to face in the finals.

You've got it back to front. With the travel, the conditions and the opposition, it's one of the hardest wins to get for the year but it's worth the same as the easiest game. Sitting 2 games clear on the ladder, the hard core percentage playing line would be to rest anyone who needed a rest.

If the 4 points were iron ore, you wouldn't bother digging in Launceston.

By the bookies reckoning, we have about a 1 in 4 chance of winning on Sunday. These are roughly the same odds of McPharlin pinging a hammy on a 3 degree day in Launceston, or Sandi getting back spasms after 12 hours of flying.

Top 2 is important, but having your most important players fit and firing at the back-end of the year is just as important. I reckon give the old blokes a rest, and send in a young hungry team playing for a ‘seat on the bus’, and see what they can do. If that blows it out to a 1 in 6 chance of winning, so be it.

Jeez Morgan, where is it you think Tassie is? Judging by your flight times, either just next to Turkey or Antarctica. I'm pretty sure the direct charter, which I think it is, will be less than 5 hours. If my last Perth-Melbourne flight was anything to go on, around 4.

I'd go anyway, but at least let me look at the A team in person. Then again, I did get to see Tim Ruffles final game. A lowlight in the midst of a 117 point shellacking.

Game v Hawthorn: 12 July.

That's 29 days during which we have played a total of 2 games - both at home. Virgin have even put on a direct flight.

Harden up princesses.

We dodge no-one.

Hawthorn without Roughead are gettable.

Hawthorn have lost their last 8 games when held to 13 or less goals.

Freo have won their last 42 games when they have scored 12 goals or more. The last time Freo scored 12+ goals and lost - rd 20, 2012, v Adelaide - we have played 67 games since then.

We can win this week - must not get blown away in the first 10 minutes, must not get involved in a shoot-out and must bring our defensive A game.

If we lose, no excuses - we make the necessary adjustments for next time.
