Third round pick and a lifetime supply of tissues and skin ointment for Harvey.

Morgan you are on the mark with Barlow. We all love Mick but he is replaceable. Maybe he with a mix of maybe one or more of Weller-D.Pearce-Blakely . Remember we have to give up some quality

Its a bit like the Harvey situation. Most of us know that Mark was a great guy but we have to move on and make the most of any opportunity .

So we are a better team with Black in and Barlow, Tabs and (in the future) Blakely gone? Fercryanoutloud, some of you folks are deluded.

No-one is suggesting Barlow for Black.

If Black is capable of being the player he was in 2013, we'd be a better team with Black and de Boer (or Weller, Grey, Blakely etc) in, and Taberner and Sheridan out.

I don't think that is delusional.

Is it delusional to think Melbourne will ever let go of Hogan?
I think so.
As for Black - 2013 seems a while ago and he is now No 4 banana behind Waite Petrie and Co.
Third round pick should do it.

Comparing 2013 Black to 2015 Taberner you need to keep in mind that Black had an extra year on an AFL list at that stage, was in a much more attacking team (e.g. by this stage of the season on average the 2013 Kangaroos would've kicked an extra 30 goals). Black kicked 9.6% of the teams total goals (playing a significant amount of games under a roof), while Taberner has kicked 7.7% of Freos goals so far this season, with a quarter of the games played not really suiting big men at all.

Dockerland has a history of backing opposition players who seem to have already played their best seasons and are in decline.

steves have a history of buying them.

You'd certainly have to ask whether it's any coincidence that his game has gone south as North have adopted a more defensive minded game plan. How would he go with Ross Lyon? He does have a lot of pace and is a good size. I wonder what his tank is like, maybe he might be worth a go as a midfielder...

Much of this discussion seems to be predicated on the position that Sheridan wants to get back to Victoria. It's hard to imagine anyone on Fremantle's list wanting to leave while the Premiership window is still open.
But that doesn't take into account players who might feel that they are languishing at Peel. Some of them are already in their home state. Apart from not getting a regular game in the Ones, all of them are still well paid to play in the Twos.

If we're going to give up a class player like a Sheridan we need to be getting a class replacement - and we are hoping rather than knowing Black will be gold.
Would you rather have Waite or Black? North clearly see Waite as the better player since he gets a gig each week, but I wouldn't trade a Sheridan for him. At best an insurance forward, imo.
We should wait until we can nail some real quality rather than settling for mediocrity again. Of course, that will cost us big-time. Freo just isn't a glamour club for eastern seaboard-based players so you have to throw sheep stations at them.

Doubt Geelong are going to have Kersten up for a trade. Just coming along nicely for them at the moment.

I can't believe how highly some of you rate Sheridan and yet write off Black. Please get rid of the purple tint glasses for a moment and consider our KPP situation, it's a shambles. Sheridan is about our 20/25th best mid, it'd be stupid not to make the trade if you were judging purely on talent and the ability to make Freo's best 22 better.
Nathan: When did you get balls?
Simon: I've always had balls you've just never seen them.
Nathan: That's the gayest thing I've ever heard.

I'm with Bizkit on this one. To be honest I'm thinking North won't go for a straight swap anyway. Probably need a draft pick as a sweetener.

For me it's not so much about Sheridan, after all he's no Viv Michie, but Black really isn't much of a KPP, he's playing ressies in a struggling team and had one good year 2 years ago. Sure he may come good, but on a longer period of form of late you wouldn't be throwing too much at the deal I'd think.
