Morgan, in 13 of those games Dixon had Ablett kicking the ball to him. His returns: 0,0,1,0,0,3,0,1,0,0,2,3 and 2 = 12 goals from 13 games.
In 8 of those games he had Ablett and Harley Bennell kicking the ball to him. Total: 11 goals in 8 games.
Pavlich in a similar performing team at a similar age:
2005 (10th): 19 goals in 6 games v top 4 teams.
2007 (11th): 22 goals in 7 games v top 4 teams.
BPurple, Pav is very unlikely to continue next year regardless of whatever happens this year or whoever we recruit for next year.
When dealing with a teenager, their injury problems may well be over early.
When dealing with a mid 20's player, their injury problems have a tendency to persist forever. Shoulder injuries are one thing, bad ankles and leg problems are another kettle of fish altogether, especially for a team who relies on constant running.
Dixon comes with a high price tag both in terms of dollars and trade dealings. We will need to give up a quality player (not a de Boer or Suban) + a high draft pick. Who do you propose?
It's all probably moot anyway. Dixon is very unlikely to be interested in coming to WA, we're being used as a leverage tool again.
