did you lock in the online ticket insurance and one of these -

I remember attending a Slime derby a few years ago, when Freo dominated the Weagles. I was on the train on the way to the game with a mate, ready to lay into Slime players. I was surrounded by Slime supporters who were far more brutal about their own players than I was. I was aghast, even saying to some of them, actually, so-and-so's not a bad player; the Slime supporters would have none of it, really laying into their own team. They're feral, I tell you, feral.

You will find out soon enough FD1016, I used to go to the away derbies but found I couldn't handle sitting amongst that feral mob.
Win lose or draw I'd rather not be anywhere near that lot.

Their fans are a mixed bag, but seem strangely antagonistic towards anyone who barracks too loudly for Freo. There certainly were occasions when I was tempted to text security. The only times I've really enjoyed it was sitting with all the other Freo supporters behind the goal at the city end. That time there were just enough e-gurl supporters nearby to keep it fun without feeling physically threatened.

Putting Roscoe in a condom aside (so to speak) and addressing the key issue here...

worrying about them, whoever they are from week to week, is no way to carry yourself as a footy supporter or fan. You go because you have to, your team needs you, you have nothing else happening in your life ( sometimes referred to as pulling the Dragon) or you're just hopelessly committed to the cause.

As feral as that lot get and I admit it is feral, consider not being there when we win.

Consider that. Weigh the options and calculate the risk...

and allow me to assure you quietly here from just up behind your left earlobe... nothing compares to being at one of their home games and beating them. Nothing.

It gets surreal if you find yourself between them and an exit. You'll never see so many spontaneous impersonations of the Queen Mother with a knitting conference to get to.

I'm assuming you are talking about 3/4 time there, Guy.

Doubt you'd get between too many slimers and the exit at the end of the fourth.

I went to a Slime home derby once a few years ago.

One of our boys (can't remember who) got a concussion i think it was, and had to be taken off the ground by medicos. Huge sections of the feral crowd (not just around me) were booing as a young man with a brain injury was taken from the ground. I have never seen anything so disgusting at an entertainment event in all my life.

They did that when Peter Bell got polaxed by (I think) Judd. They were booing because they were scared their guy would be reported.
