Think it's time to do a 'West Coast' - write the season off now. Drop those players that aren't going to be there for the 're build' (i.e. Mayne, Barlow, D.Pearce, et al) give some of the kids a run (Collins, Blakely, Langdon, Hughes) and play the trade-bait (De Boer, Suban, Smith).
Losing to Carltank at home indicates we will be lucky to win 2-3 games so should get a top 3 draft pick. Had a look for the 2016 draft prospects and low and behold - there's only one in
this article that's over 190 cm - Victorian Jarrod Berry. Not sure the club will go for him with so many midfielders up for grabs, though.
The biggest single issue we have at present is re-signing L.Neale - lose him and one of rare (recent) draft successes will open the flood gates. Our chances of luring Hooker are plummeting by the day and I think any chance Hogan will come home to us is nothing short of fantasy. CamMac might even decide GWS isn't such a bad option after all.
Unfortunately, all the hard work done over the past few years in making consecutive finals campaigns may all be brought undone.
I hope I'm wrong, but with Pav, Johnno & Sandi (and possibly Mundy) all set to depart within the next 2 years, we have some massive holes in our side to fill and I'm not seeing one of those being replaced (with the exception of A.Pearce) from our current list.
