For guy who is constantly in and out I still thought Tabs contributed more than Mayne. Put Mayne back to Peel till we can put him up for trade at the end of the year with Barlow. Leave Tabs on for 10 weeks straight and then we can judge him. We know for a fact Mayne has been average for 2 years now.

That would have to be barlows last game for a while. He is trying his best but the pace and skill of the game is finding him out fast.
Not sure who comes in , given Mundy is still another game away.

Barlow isn't being selected on form but until Mundy returns we have nobody else for that inside mid role.

Mayne, however can be replaced and go back to Peel to get some confidence back

So here's the go. Last week, we get smashed in the clearances in the last quarter, and lose after being (somewhat undeservedly) still in the game. This week, we get smashed in the clearances in the last quarter, and lose after being deservedly still in the game.

We can blame Mayne, Tabs, or whoever, but all we had to do was break even in the clearances in the last quarter. And I don't think those guys were given that role.

Last year we used to fade in the last quarter, but it didn't matter so much because we had a match winning lead by then. So maybe we just have the same problem as last year - we burn up too much energy early and can't compete at the end.

Mayne has his mojo back; Micky topped our tackling stats and added a goal; Pav only took 1 mark for the game; Michael Walters is in career best form; Fyfe is bloody brilliant but useless as a captain; Ballas is back big time. Those are the facts. We've got a couple of great players out injured and a couple more in the magoos trying to get in. We don't have a couple of talls that have enough confidence/skill to bag 4 or 5 a game - those too are the facts.

Yet none of those facts answers why we set up so structurally exposed down the middle - I look at the set-up and it screams to the opposing team 'easy way to goal, one way'. No one has questioned this, none of the coaching staff has taken responsibility for it, not one of the pr blurbs out of Parry Street even acknowledge the bloody obvious. I've stared at it for 4 games straight - I assume every other team has done the same. Have a look at your tapes (if you can bear it), all of our opposition have played the same way against us - they know it's a sure way to get a win with a 6 goal buffer.

We don't have a couple of Hogans in our forward 50 - what we do have is a coaching problem.

They kicked 12 goals something off turnovers. That and our awful kicking for goal (again) was much more of an issue than our structures.
