ROUND 6 REPORT
The Clangers (64) def. by Willsy Aeroplane 2 (133)
The Clangers came in for their first loss of the season as they were smashed
by WA2. The Aeroplane is now the only undefeated team so far this season.
Not to make excuses, but with Ben Cousins and Wayne Campbell both going
down (insert smart remark here) during the game, the Clangers really didn't
stand a chance. Scott West and Michael Gardiner from WA2 made mince meat
of the leftovers.
The Late Starters (124) def. by The Rollers & Rockers
(126)
In the debut of their new coach, the Late Starters almost pulled off a
win against the Rockers, but fell short by only a couple of points. Adam
Simpson, Mark Bickley and Troy Cook were all good for the Starters, while
Phil Matera, Peter Bell and Matthew Clarke played well for the Rockers.
In a close game, the tide was turned when James Kelly came off the bench
for the Rockers, gathering a tidy 19 possessions.
The Nowotny Nomads (115) def. Sunday Everyday (95)
The Nomads had a comfortable victory over Sunday, who keep trying hard
but just can't seem to get that elusive win. Chris Tarrant, Russell Robertson,
Nigel Lappin, Robert Harvey and Andrew Kellaway all put in an even performance
for the Nomads, while Sunday again struggled to find a stand out player.
The Brendon Feddema Allstars (136) def. Carrot &
Onions (105)
Supercoach Blocker brought the Allstars their second win in a row by defeating
the Onions. Brett Ratten, Matthew Lappin and Mark Ricciuto all ran riot
in the midfield for the Allstars, while Brent Harvey tried hard for the
Onions.
Race 5 Cessnock Dogs (107) def. by The Curlywongs (132)
The Wongs got back on the winners list (or the wight list as compared
to the wong list) this week. While Jason Johnson and Paul Licuria battled
on for the Dogs, they couldn't keep up with the likes of Wayne Carey,
Andrew McLeod, Nick Stevens and Steven King.
The Les Fong Experience (96) def. The Western Allstars
(88)
In a low scoring affair, the Experience just held off the Allstars. Brad
Johnson led the way for the Experience, while the Allstars struggled to
find a winner on the field.
Cylon Centurions (114) def. Livinintheeastnow (106)
The Centurions were too good for Livin, who would probably have a better
chance except for the fact their coach hasn't been sighted since round
3. Matthew Lloyd and Lenny Hayes were good for the Centurions, while Michael
Voss and Paul Hasleby were the leaders for Livin.
The Super Dooper Big Chiefs Of The World (102) def. by
Premiership Hangover (110)
Luckily for the Hangover, injuries meant that Des Headland got a game
in the midfield, and he fired to get them over the line. The Chiefs had
good players in Kent Kingsley and Nathan Buckley, but the aforementioned
Des Headland, along with Paul Medhurst, Jess Sinclair and Justin Koschitzke
were just a little too good for them.
