Freo Formguide: v Collingwood | Print |

Fremantle take a step down in class this week, in all senses of the word, to take on Collingwood at the MCG. It's your typical late June trip to Melbourne so the Pies can avoid the trip to Western Australia. Collingwood learnt their lesson last year when they accidentally allowed the AFL to fixture a Round 22 match at Subiaco Oval where the Dockers smashed them and derailed the Magpies entire finals campaign, as optimistic as that campaign may have been.

Fremantle In An Upset | Print |

Fremantle have had a huge victory over the odds, smashing through the betting line and getting within 31 points of the Western Bulldogs. The Dockers weren't tipped to get within 20 goals of the third on the ladder Bulldogs and, after a slow start, looked like they might be heading there abouts. But a late second quarter goal burst from Chris Mayne and a second half blitz lead by Matthew Pavlich saw the Dockers get within striking distance before petering out in the last quarter and finishing with a respectable loss.

The Defenders Are Coming | Print |

Fremantle could be welcoming back half their defence this weekend with Luke McPharlin and Roger Hayden getting their names tentatively placed in the book for Sunday. Michael Walters has also been added to the 25, in the mix with Hayden, Brett Peake, Marcus Drum and Clancee Pearce. An injury ravaged Melbourne have made six changes to the side that was belted by the Kangaroos last week, with the water boys, little leaguers and a recovering Jimmy Stynes in waiting as the back-up plan.

Match Preview: v St Kilda | Print |

To look at the history of Fremantle and St Kilda is to look at a history of villainy, cheating and skulduggery. For all the groups of people who have screwed Fremantle over down the years, St Kilda tops the list. From threatening the umpires to dodgy time keepers, the Saints have been into it all. At the moment, however, the Saints are feeling pretty good about themselves (you know, the moment before they wag training while their coach shouts them tickets to a movie, then they fall back into the sewer they crawled out of) so there's every chance they'll be cocky enough this weekend that they won't feel the need to cheat, lie or manipulate their way to the four points. Don't bet on it though.

Freo Formguide: v Geelong | Print |
Written by Shane Richmond

Geelong haven't been kind to the Dockers over the years. Sure, they gave up Andrew Wills and Stephen O'Reilly in exchange for some magic beans at the end of 1994 and gave Fremantle their first win in WA but since then, it's been a fairly one sided relationship. Freo have had six wins from sixteen matches against the Cats and three of those came while Geelong were doing what modern day coaches like to call rebuilding. The last five games between the two sides have gone Geelong's way but the last time the Dockers beat them, Geelong were sitting second on the ladder, Fremantle were given no chance and the bookies were offering odds in the range of a meal at Subiaco Oval.
