Youth Policy
Everytime I turned on the TV yesterday, there was Ibbo speaking on behalf of the players. Seemed to be our new spokesperson. Not a bad idea. Only let players under 21 talk to the media. Send out Ibbo, Palmer, Hinkley and even someone who hasn't played yet.
And instead of Scwabb or Rick, send out our number one junior ticket holder, that little kid who was discovered on the footy show. He could also do "on the couch" with Walls and tell him what Freo stands for.

I'd bet the kid would give Walls a good kick in the shins - and a stamp on the foot for postage. Now that would be great TV.

Re:Youth Policy
Perhaps it's the club's way of repaying the disdain with which the media treat the club by showing disdain to the media by giving them only our very junior players to speak to.

Re:Youth Policy
Although, I must say I thought Garrick did extremely well facing what calls itself the WA football press. It was heartening to see him talk very genuinely about how finals footy is still possible.

I have to admit, I didn't think too much of his debut game last year, but this season he has proved to be a worthwhile forward running midfielder with a lovely accurate set shot kick (a la Ryan Murphy before all his ability seemed to desert him).

But I do hope a few other players maintain their yearly roster of press conferences. If I was a drinking man, I'd be under the table every time Steven Dodd (most notably) begins an answer with "Yeah nah..."

Re:Youth Policy
the added bonus with giving the young'uns some media face time is that in 2 or 3 years Tony Shaw may actually recognise some of them.
