Re:Wiz Retires?
Devastated! Wrong call by Harves and Bond I feel; a capricious decision which serves to satisfy the vocal masses.

But, what a wonderfully dignified retirement speech. Goodbye Jeff one of my favourite players ever!

Re:Wiz Retires?
I am gutted. There will ever be only one Wiz, a truelly brilliant footballer and person. It's the hardest call the club has ever made....I am not sure its the right one. Purple Jesus we salute you.

Re:Wiz Retires?
Gutted. Very poor decision. If Carr had stayed and there weren't question marks over other players, I could see why, but a real mistake, I think, and robs him of a decent farewell. I think he deserved that too, if he wanted one.

I really thought they'd give him another season. He wanted it - and given the stocks are looking so low, I might even be able to get a game next year (and no one wants that, I can tell you) - I thought he'd get it.

I wasn't ready. I was just getting used to seeing the Purple Jesus again on friday.

Re:Wiz Retires?
Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

Bad bad bad mistake. Can't kill off all the veterans. Can't kill off the club character. It'll be the anchor next. He'd better come up with something good.

Bloody Woolf. Should keep his snout out.

Re:Wiz Retires?
The last goal he ever kicked was a fitting epitaph to his career. It defied all laws of physics, gravity and logic. It ws supposed to go right to left. It bent back left to right and sailed right through the middle. Never in doubt. It's unfortunate that many will remember Jeffery for all the wrong reasons. I guess its up to us to make sure we remember him for all the right ones.

Re:Wiz Retires?
This has shattered me too.

Thanks for the memories Wiz.

The only people happy about this will be the media hacks and weavil bandwagoners.

Again, shattered.

Re:Wiz Retires?
So long Jeff. Hopefully he'll continue to terrorise back pocket opponents in the WAFL for a few years yet.

So who are the Western Australian media going to use as their punching bag now?

Re:Wiz Retires?
can't believe it either. I was sure that he would play on. I believed he could offer us something still. They better pick up a good goal sneak in the draft. Maybe the right decision going forward but a hard one to live with. sad, sad day.

Wish him all the best in the future and hopefully he is still able to contribute to Fremantle in some way. Even by just turning up to games or showing his face around the club.

Re:Wiz Retires?
Completely gutted.

And very angry.

I am utterly ashamed of this decision and of those who made it. It is a dark day in the history of the Fremantle Football Club. It was a decision made to appease the Western Australian media, and not made in the interests of our club. Bad football. We might as well appoint Digby as assistant coach now.

Jeff, you are loved and worshipped by many. I will miss you beyond belief.

I'm very disappointed with this decision. Very sad day.

Worst of all it provides those smug floggers in the media with a sense of vindication. I'm looking at you Walls, you jazzbearded onanist.

Re:Wiz Retires?
I'm not angry - Jeff's time had to come either this year or next.

I am grateful. We have benefited from and been first-hand witnesses to his amazing football skills.

Thank you, Jeff Farmer. Without you, our great game is the poorer, but I know that you have provided and will continue to provide guidance and advice to those young indigenous players who are embarking on their football careers.
