Paracleet - the Gary Dhurrkay goal was against St.Kilda.

I too was there and couldn't believe it went in.

On his right foot in the right pocket 40 metres out right on the boundary beginning of the last quarter.

Place went skitso, unfortunately we lost the match ;-(

Other highlights to sugarcoat our 2008 season:

* Willsy's goal against North Melbourne in the Len Hall match at the WACA in 1998 - I miss the WACA days!

* JLo after the siren

* Round 22 derby win in 2003

* And hearing "This could be the making of this club" everytime we win a classic.

Re:What is your all time favourite Freo moment?
I also have a few,

having been a member only 5 years, like mentioned before one of my favorite moments is receiving that little card in the mail each year confirming I will be at all home games..

another would be that massive kick from Pav on the weekend.. Kicking a brilliant goal from the centre square!! (lets not mention anymore of that game)

and finally s mentioned numerous times before the JLo kick after the siren in 2005. I was speechless!!

I love my boys!

Carn Freo!

Re:What is your all time favourite Freo moment?
Apart from those mentioned a couple that I remember are

1 the fightback in the 2000 match against the Eagles in which Dale Kickett starred! Talking about stars I think a few Eagles saw a few that day.

2. The crowd after the first final we had at Subiaco against Essendon - we lost but the support from the Freo supporters was incredible.

Another favourite, Macca getting absolutely poleaxed by wirrapanda at Subi in the forward line (we all thought he'd be stretchered off for sure) only to see him pick himself up from the turf and calmly slot it through from a difficult angle, truly inspirational.

Re:What is your all time favourite Freo moment?
it may appear trivial, but the great memory for i when i think of the freo highlights, is the presenting of the jumper/guernsey on the footy show in 1994~ mal brown & inaugural coach gerard neesham beaming with absolute proud & priviledged dispositions knowing history was made and in the making!
clearly, the birth of that forever will stick in the minds of purple haze true believers (ps: we need to keep that faith during a tough period at present).

Re:What is your all time favourite Freo moment?
I want another go. Since no one has mentioned it yet I would like to refer to the entire Freo vs Bris game in 2003 I think it was. The Lions are dominating all before them and we are a side who has come off several very average seasons. A crowd of around 30 000 show up on an overcast day. No one gives us much chance.

At 3 quarter time Freo are still in the match thanks largely to accurate kicking and star youngster Byron Schammer. The kid ran rings around Voss, Black, Aker and Lappin. During the 3qtr time break the crowd were going off. There were chants and a nervous excitement going around.

From the start of the last quarter to the end of the game, the crowd was in everything. We were loud, boisterous and right behind our side. It was one of the last times a full Freo crowd were in attendance rather than bandwagoners and weazle traitors.

We were up by a point at around the 30min mark and Brissy bombed a ball to Lynch and Brown 20m out. The crowd fell silent for a moment as the ball disappeared into the dark sky. As it rained down, a purple flash leapt into the air above those Brissy giants. All of a sudden the crowd exploded into one of the loudest noises I can remember. Lukey Mac had taken a last ditch screamer ala Leo Barry. We held onto the ball for another 15 seconds before the siren went and the young, inexperienced Freo side had defeated the greatest side to venture into the AFL.

That was truely a great day.

Re:What is your all time favourite Freo moment?
I know you aren't supposed to enjoy such things, but it was the mexican wave that started up when we kicked 9 goals in the 1st quarter against Collingwood a few years ago. It was fun to be just celebrating for the whole game!

Re:What is your all time favourite Freo moment?
i loved the moment in about 98 or 99 i think when we played geelong at home. that skinny kid for geelong (formerly of fitzroy) - bamford, who was lightning quick, streaked down the centre of subi, having a few bounces and approaching 50m out. clement miraculously chased him down from miles back, tackled him and had him pinged for holding the ball. the best part was when clement rubbed the skinny rakes head into the grass by pressing on the side of his head it was at that point everyone realised jimmy used to be a state sprint champion

Re:What is your all time favourite Freo moment?
It hasn't happened yet. It is going to be when we smash the Doggies by a record margin in our next game and the mexican wave goes around enough times to churn butter and the drums are back and beat all the live long day!

Re:What is your all time favourite Freo moment?
Bizkit - you're right about that game against Brisbane in 2003. It really did seem to be one of the last times a "traditional" Freo crowd was in attendance, which is why it sticks out in my memory as the best of our close victories at Subi over recent years (yes, even JLo's goal and McManus' 200th).

And don't forget who Luke kicked to after taking that screamer, and in whose hands the ball was as the siren went. A little blonde kid from South Australia, who despite his periodic bursts of sloppy play since has always retained a place in my affections for that game alone.

Re:What is your all time favourite Freo moment?
All time Freo moment would have to be J Lo's mark and goal after the siren for sure, from where I was sitting i was looking just about directly through the goal posts to where he was kicking from and yelling kick it to me. It fell a bit short but I still went up, not for the mark just in celebration. It was high fives all around, I love the close edge of the seat games but they are much better when you win.
Also have to mention Shane Parkers 200th game, watching him running and bouncing the ball out of defence and willing him on to kick it though the big sticks which of course he did....classic stuff.
The Wiz has also given me lots of memorable moments so many that I can't narrow it down to one, it's always exciting when he gets the ball you never know what's going to happen but more often than not he produces something magical.

Oh was I suppose to pick one I was just getting warmed up, what about the time..........

Re:What is your all time favourite Freo moment?
Late in the game, round 19 2003. Freo were away to the Kangaroos, we were down in the second half and our chances of playing finals footy for the first time semed to be slipping away.

The Pav took the game by the scruff of the neck and won it for it almost single handed. I was almost in tears as it sunk in that we were at last going to play finals footy.
