As it stands, Freo have picks 3, 21, 37, 53 and 69. Warnock, Murphy, and Josh may be traded. I’m interested to know what picks we could trade for with these players. If their were a trade I’d be keen to see a deal with Melbourne over Warnock which involves the swapping of our pick 3 for their pick 1 and thus the guarantee of Rich in the draft. Maybe a 2nd or 3rd rd pick to go with it for Rob.
Murphy could do well at another club and I’d push for a 2nd rd pick although a pick inside 40 would be good.
Josh is harder to figure out because Port are likely to publicly make out like they are doing us a favour by taking Josh. They would love to have him back and have a side capable of pushing the top of the ladder despite their lowly finish. Josh would aid them greatly and another top 40 pick would be handy for us.
Am I asking too much? Or too little?

I'll put my pessismistic pragmatic hat on and say too tough.
Some serious poker facing to come, I reckon.

Biz, I don't think that our Club would agree to Pick #3 and Warnock just to get Pick #1. Draft picks are always a gamble and to say that the difference between 1 & 3 is a good upNcoming ruckman, is way too generous. However, if Warnock did decide to leave, I think we could get a second round pick for him.
I don't think that Murphy has any great value. If we received a Round 3 pick I would be very happy with that.
Josh? No idea. He's been an enigma this year.

I trust that someone at Freo is talking to the crows about a trade for Josh.
Last year on trade day Harves reached a point where he saw no more value in recruiting a young player with his lower picks. If Harves reached that point again this year, I hope it is just before Ports late picks and we pick up Josh. Nothing against Josh, but I'd like to see chocco explain his way out of that one to Ports supporters.

Josh Carr's missus wants to go back to Adelaide (?!). And everyone assumes this means Josh Carr is being traded back to Port, with Choco talking down Josh's trade value, maybe we should deal with the Crows? Maybe a swap for Van Berlo - has there been any talk about him coming back to Perth?
Maybe a straight swap with the Dee's, Cale Morton for Robbie Warnock? Both clubs would benefit, both kids get to go home.

I think you might be a bit optimistic there. Do we really want/need Rich anyway (given his performance in the national U18's)? Does it matter? We have a top 3 pick, and there are three top-notch prospects available (Rich, Naitanui, Watts). I think any of those will be fine.
Plus, as you may or may not know, Melbourne's not wanting to trade this year. The loss of White indicates they're looking to pick up Naitanui (or Warnock, or both...) - otherwise probably Watts. The eagles will almost certainly take Rich, but we're still left with a quality player.

Why wouldn't Robbie Warnock be worth a mid - late first round pick.
Cameron Wood was last year and i think Robbie is more promising than Wood was last year

Is Josh out of contract? If not we keep him if the trade isn't good enough - he's worth the fight.

Does Fremantle have a third ruckman? not counting Kepler and Happy... Is Natanui a ruckman only or could he play CHF/wing etc ?
Because I think if you trade Warnock ...you need to draft Natanui ...and if you keep Warnock is there room for Natanui?

embee, we picked up Brent Connelly in the Rookie Draft last year. I don't know how he's going but I'd suspect he is still a way off AFL level.

Just a thought - if we don't get Natanui, and we do lose Warnock, we will need an extra ruckman. The eagles are supposed to be getting rid of Seaby - why don't we take him? He's from WA, and he's not a bad player - quite a good mark anyway. Of course he'd have to say sorry to Sandi first.....
