Well there they where wandering into the changerooms at half-time back slapped by trainers and medical staff when a lone voice of the bootstudder piped up... "How are the Weagles goin' to win the spoon if The Dees keep losin'?"

A hush fell upon the Freo gladiators and support staff.

This was indeed serious

"Well it could be done" said the bootstudder from his darkened corner of the room full of grim faced warriors "If you pretend,say,your the mob up the road and don't let Pav get the ball too often you might get away with it"

"Nobody would ever believe we didn't throw it" came a voice from the head shaking and worried mass.

"That's just it... nobody would believe it" said the bootstudder in a hushed tone lamenting the molded-sole boot in his hand.

Smiles started to re-appear throughout the changeroom with the belief that they could do it.

"But we'll have to play Pav in the centre so he doesn't kick any more goals" came a voice to the nodding throng.
