The New Jeff?
Just been watching Buddy's antics in the second quarter.
Surely all that carry on - pushing opposition players around, pushing them over, ignoring the umpire - was unnecessary, ill-disciplined, etc, etc, etc. All with a touch of brilliance. Definitely not thinking of his team mates, was he!
Hang on - the commentators are laughing, not vilifying.
In fact, they're barely criticising him!
Guess they'll have to start looking for someone in a purple jumper to be the new Jeff.

Re:The New Jeff?
I thought exactly the same when I was watching it (also found it extremely entertaining)

Re:The New Jeff?
I think I even heard one of them say that if was a good 50m penalty because it held the game up? Does anyone other than dockers supporters and jeff himself see this bias.

Re:The New Jeff?
and nothing but stony silence from Bucks and Co when Buddy was saluting the crowd with his trademark pose (which I love, by the way.)

No cheap remarks re "tell him his team mates are behind him."

Re:The New Jeff?
Yes I was bewildered at that comment, too. Never heard of a tactical 50 metre penalty.

These guys seem to have no objectivity at all. Justify every action of their favourites and condemn every action of their pariahs. Unprofessional, uninformed, woolfish. Buckley's got some sense though.

No wonder Buddy had a silly grin on his chops all night. Must have been unbearably frustrating for Jeff.

Re:The New Jeff?
Buddy was the first to kick 8 goals in a final since Jeff. Yet the commentators seems to be all falling over themselves in terms of Buddy, in a way that Jeff was never celebrated by the media.

I didn't hear the commentators criticizing Buddy for his individualistic celebrations after goal, either.

Re:The New Jeff?
Has anyone rung up Wallsy to see what he thinks of Buddy's extremely humble goal celebration?
