Stopping the momentum?
Any ideas?? Two weeks in a row we have thrown a big lead. Its hard to see the changes Harvs is making on tellie to stem the flow when a team gets a run on. I thought McPharlin could have gone back again or was he injured?? I saw him in the forward pocket. Are we flooding at all??

Agree with you Shane, would have been a good old head amongst the young blokes.

Clive? OK, not Clive - but at least he'd have caused more confusion.

Manning up is always a start. Trying is another...

Re:Stopping the momentum?
Another controversial one - Daniel Metropolis. He could put the ball deliberately out of bounds from the centre square.

I think I'm just missing Shane Parker.

Re:Stopping the momentum?
As we saw with Pav on Sunday, one man can't stop the momentum, he can try his hardest but at the end of the day it's a team game and all players need to strive for those one percenters that the commentators are always talking about. It's a group effort and when it comes to stopping momentum, I think what we lack is a tough enough mental attitude.

Re:Stopping the momentum?
I don't care for airy fairy things like mental attitude. You play someone like Daniel Gilmore, just as the obvious example, because you get an attacking player who will get help get you out to a 50 point lead. You also need players who can stop you getting beaten.

Exactly like the game against Richmond, Fremantle played a team that would beat a weak opposition. Young and attacking players. Scott Thornton and Michael Johnson are great defenders when you've got an Antoni Grover and a Shane Parker (or a fit Steven Dodd) about as the rocks in defence. They're not great as old school, line and length defenders.

Melbourne, lacking respect for Fremantle (probably brought on by a few choice words from Chris Connolly at half time) started to play well and the side Fremantle played weren't equipped to deal with it.

I reckon that, instead of using the bench as a tool to keep the same side running all day, it would be better to throw in a bit more diversity so you can react to a run on rather than hoping you can out attack them and vice versa.

Re:Stopping the momentum?
To stop the Momenetum......I'd like to see Pav be the last Captain to call for a head count.....Then they would change the rules
