Salute the Warrior
Farewell Robert Harvey.

He's graced the footy field for twenty-one seasons and, if my memory serves me correctly, won two Brownlow Medals and has never once been suspended.

A true champion.

Re:Salute the Warrior
That's all very well, but has he 'played in a premiership team at the highest level'?

Re:Salute the Warrior
Being a sainter before i saw the light in 1995 when we finally got a guernsey, it almost bought a tear to my eye tonight seeing a great champ end his career. (thought Crawf was emotional enough to suggest its his last time around too btw)

Now can we, and does Rob have any merit as an assistant for us?

Re:Salute the Warrior
He was a great footballer who approached the game with as much respect as his club afforded him. The game was fortunate to have him - he was fortunate to belong to a club that stood with him and treated him with the respect he deserved (even though there were plenty of options for faster and younger players to fill his spot for the past few seasons at least). His retirement marks the end of an era - for players of his nature, for clubs that respect and look after their own.

Couldn't agree more. It was a pleasure to watch Harvey and the Saints win against the Egirls at a home match. I dip my hat to the Saints for allowing him to play out his career in dignity, pity there isnt more of it around in todays culture.

Never reported?

Superstar and a gentleman, then. Well done Mr Harvey...

I particularly admire his reluctance to feed the media.

Great player and a gentleman. He will be good at the AIS he can teach youngsters the discipline required to make it to the top and instill some of his fine values into them.
