Robbie Warnock
Wined and dined by Melbourne plus power point presentation. Freo will probably get a piority pick for him (top 20 draft pick). This may bring Natanui into play from our point of view unless he goes at 3 to Port. Watts to Melbourne, Rich to WCE seems certain.

Re:Robbie Warnock
Yeah, sure. Warnock's leaving because Melbourne bought him lunch, and they said so on TV.

Or maybe Warnock's staying.

Which of these sounds like the better 'story'?

Re:Robbie Warnock
And TV never lies.

Let me guess...the next story will be Scham to Port in return for nothing but their guarantee that they'll leave Natanui for us at pick 4?

Re:Robbie Warnock
No-one's convinced me Warnock's staying yet.

Mind, no-one's convince me he's going, wither.

Funny thing, though... no-one's convinced me Natanui's a footy player, either.

Re:Robbie Warnock
They used a PowerPoint presentation? Oh no! I just hope and pray they didn't use some sort of pie chart or a fancy transition.

Diabolical.

The only Pie Chart I've seen lately is Heath Shaw's blood alcohol test results.

Fellas settle down - just reporting what was said. No more no less. You can believe it or not. The option is yours.

Re:Robbie Warnock
I notice they did this presentation at the MCG. I don't imagine they showed him Melbourne headquarters or their training grounds.Do they have any yet?

Re:Robbie Warnock
I wonder if the same genius who came up with Melbourne's clash strip put together the Powerpoint presentation?

I bet also that none of Melbourne's financial records were included in any presentation. Actually I reckon it's great that some part of all our memberships (with Fremantle) were donated to Melbourne so that they could pay out McNamee's contract and then approach one of our players.

Re:Robbie Warnock
No mean feat to put together a power point presentation selling the Melbourne Football Club to a potential ten year player.

Key Points -

Debt Management:

Melbourne aims to be debt free by the year 2018.

Income Streams:

18,000 members by 2015. incl MCC members,

Proposal to sell home jumper to cat food company, players have a choice of four different names,

Deal to play three home games a year in Sale.

Re:Robbie Warnock
There's something about this whole Warnock thing that I just don't get.

Why, would a club pay for a player's shoulder operation before the end of the season if he wasn't going to stay at the club?
If you knew that his was on his way wouldn't you just play him until the end of the season and say good luck with your shoulder injury and your new team, son and all the best?

And,as far as Natawhathisface is concerned, I'm with Mr Smiley. So far the only thing he has shown is that he is a good athelete but not a great footballer. So why would you bother.

Re:Robbie Warnock
Just a question here...maybe someone knows the rules better than me, BUT

are Melbourne allowed to approached a player who is still under contract? He is contracted till the end of the season and this approach appears to me to contrary to the rules. Not that rules mean much these days, but still.

Any ideas on this?

Re:Robbie Warnock
It's not forbidden.

I'm more concerned at the precedent than the action. Where is society headed when a decrepit staggering monument to dysfunction can approach an impressionable young bloke away from his peer support network and openly attempt to seduce him?

Kind of like a political party trying to seduce an impressionable bloke like Belly!

I would think Melbourne have allready secured this lad. It makes sense from a family with a son allready at Melbourne. Reunite the brothers together at the same club.

Will Melbourne have to use their first pick to get him ? What can we expect to get for him?

Re:Robbie Warnock
No doubt they need him - they need anybody and everybody.

OK - and I hate to say that I agree with Brad Hardie on this one, but why would you want to keep someone on your team who doesn't want to be on your team?

Davey and Wheatley - straight swap (see ya' Robbie).

Re:Robbie Warnock
It was rather unfortunate at the beginning of the season when Robert Warnock was recovering from injury and trying to get game time in the WAFL that Bozo Seaby was the number one ruckman at West Perth. That'd make you wanna leave.

Re:Robbie Warnock
I agree that if he wants to go we should let him go because his heart won't be in it. My preference is that he stays tho. But if we had to let him go, do you think we would be able to do a swap for Robbie + pick 4 for Pick 1 + something else, maybe their second round pick or a good player. I know that this is my hatred for west coast affecting my decision making but I would like to get 1st pick and choose rich out of spite for the eagles tanking.

If he is as good as Palmer, having two of them running around with ibbo getting better, haze back and the rest of the mob we could develop a good midfield.

Re:Robbie Warnock
1) If he wants to go...let him go.

2) Am also of opinion that if we do trade with Demons we do whatever we can to grab Rich, as mentioned in a previous post...for Eagles tanking. None of us want the Budgies being rewarded for how well the New Breed went this year!

3) Ideally if he wants to play for the Dockers then that is awesome for us.
