Well done Rhys.
With judgement like that just be thankful Adrian Anderson does not hold down a responsible job!!!!!! Kind of explains the whole hands in the back debacle, does it not?

Don't blame Adrian Anderson. He would have been told how to vote.

Merc, the "just following orders" defence didn't work at nuremberg, so nor should it work here.

Well done to Rhys Palmer, a deserved winner.
Adrian Anderson might want to watch a Fremantle game next year, as he obviously didn't see any this year.

Never mind Rhys's supposed dodgy disposal that we've been bombarded with since Rioli became flavour of the month. It's Rhys's haircut. Sensible haircut = maximun votes.

Excellent news, I was resigned to the east coast media machine wearing down the 5 votes earmarked for Rhys. Well done mate, what a fantastic first year of AFL. May it be the first of many prestigeous awards you win wearing the purple.
Also, Ibbo was 5th. That second round draft pick for him was an outstanding get. It was very much a case of "who?" at the time.
Just on the Backpack, he was involved in one of the most audacious things I've seen on a footy field on Friday night. Northern wing, 3rd quarter I think, ball was was kicked from our backline to position, Ibbo was out of the play, well behind, alone and had 2 pies to beat, made up the ground sensationally, flew from behind and took a great pressure mark. AND THEN, with two pies on him, immediately PLAYED ON with a bounce from memory. OK, after he broke away from them he stuffed it up and slipped over, but in that time he had outpaced and comprehensively flogged two opponents in the air and subsequently on the ground with sheer confidence and ability. I know my oldest boy reckons he is a champ and it does influence my thinking, but the future is bright, and he really has had a breakout season. Will be a great player for us.
And on Friday's game, perfect finish to the season for Hinkley, who really showed a bit on Friday night, best game in purple yet. Pretty sure he can still be nominated next year?

Hear the bleating from across the Nullabor? This (and others) from a tosser at the Herald Sun site: http://www.news.com....dsun/comments/0,22023,24287379-19742,00.html>> Is it easier playing good footy for a below standard team or a team that will fight for this years premiership? I think it is much easier playing good footy for a team that is not performing. There is nothing to lose so you just play footy and enjoy yourself. If you make a mistake, who cares, all your teammates are making mistakes too. Cyril Rioli has fit into and cemented his place in a team full of stars. Cyril should have won the Rising Star as its much hard to play great footy in a star studded team. >> Maybe this goose should ask Dessy what it's like playing for Freo after Brisbane!

What a dumb thing to say.
It's much easier to play well in a team that's already playing well. They've always got the ball! At Freo, Rhys has had to work really hard for it. Look at it this way, without Rhys we would have lost more games for sure. How many more games would Hawthorn have lost if Rioli wasn't playing? None.
