After such a beautifully eloqent description of our heartbeaking
season I feel a little petty and pedantic in pointing this out but, for some reason, I feel compelled.

It was Joseph, not William Conrad who wrote about The Heart of Darkness and the horror contained within. Joseph was a seaman before he became a writer and english was his second language but the bugger had the ability to write about the big issues. As you do too, Mr Smiley. I always enjoy your desert induced prose and your infinitely wise take on footy and FFC.

Those bloody Conrad brothers... I always get them mixed up. William, of course, was the funny one in the family.

I know I should check things before I post... but those blogs are written in full rant mode, Addicted... they're lucky to get a quick spelling check, as you may have noticed.
