I'll tell you another thing that seems to escape BackAgainstThe - we have a memory.
When we lost the elimination final at Subiaco, we stood to applaud the progress our Club had made. Did we applaud the loss? No. Did we applaud the media's commentary and inferences? No. Did we applaud the last half? No.
We remember much more than the last four quarters.
Did we boo Chris Judd when he won the Glendinning Medal? No. Did we boo the selectors for not awarding it to Josh Carr for a four quarter effort? You bet.
Can we laugh, cry and cheer at the memory of Gary Dhurkay? You bet. Do we mourn a political columnist who had the misfortune to love our footy team? Yes - we miss you Matt.
What BackAgainstThe doesn't understand (or is far too embarrassed to admit) is that we, as in our Club, the people's club, have much greater depth than most.
Will we forget you, Robert Walls? No. Mate, you are an idiot. You played VFL and coached VFL teams, but that doesn't mean that you are not an idiot. You will get no credence from the Fremantle faithful.
We don't forget.
