When the team loses the game that others say was impossible one goes looking for answers. I offer the following:
1. We had our most inexperienced defence that I can remember; and then lost the best of them for more than a half of the game. Macpharlin, Hayden, Grover and Headland would have made a world of difference today. 2. Miller was their only good player in the first half and he was towelling up Drum, but no move from the coaches. 3. Brock O'Brien and Scott Thornton and Drummy all had shockers. 4. Melbourne over-run us and won nearly all the second half clearances. Whoever coaches our clearnance set up needs to take some responsibility for this. 5. Melbourne, like any side which is winless, was always going to be a risk at some stage. The coaches should have been able to see the warning lights and I do not think they had a defensive game plan when it was needed. 6. Our list is slow and it is over-rated. Sad but true.

5 & 1/2 out 6. Our list is slow, but not overrated. Remember the game last weekend where we nearly beat the in form team of the past two seasons? Freo just consistently fail to live up to their potential.

Won't somebody please think how to fix number 4, we continuously get towelled up in the clearances, there must be some way to fix it up. Completely disagree with number 6, I don't think our list is slow - they can run fast enough when they want to and they are only over rated before the season starts, once the season gets underway and the WA media starts flogging them to the tune of the weegirls club song their ratings start to become a bit more realistic. If the football geniuses (or is that geniuii) in the media get my hopes up in the pre-season one more time I'm going to freakin scream!
