P-platers
You know how they are. Takes years of campaigning to read the road, anticipate the moves of other drivers, and, most of all, to maintain the calm and concentration to pick the best path in all traffic conditions. Stick too rigidly to a set game plan and you'll end up stubbornly chugging away in the slow lane. Try too many spur-of-the-moment maneouvres and you'll get boxed in. You have to know the road ahead and read the flow. Takes years.

Harves will get his full licence in a couple of years.

And just to make sure, Walls came up with the same thing 5 days later...

Link: Wallsy's version

Nice bit of scavenging, Wallsy.

Re:P-platers
Not only has he pinched your story but he's written his usual bias garbage. The other three coaches have apparently got teams with promise and hope. Harvey has a team of undisciplined, lazy pensioners. I can pretty much guarantee that we'd belt every one of those teams (bar the anomaly of last week) without any problem at all.

Re:P-platers
Walls' is at it again.

Ratten, Baily and Knights all get the warm rubdown, and Harvey gets a bake.

Apparently, with 6 losses in a row, Bailey is 'unruffled' in the media, Knights is 'positive and approachable'. But Harvey 'needs to be better organised', and Walls' only gives him 15 weeks to prove himself.

The other get as long as they need, because they're all top young blokes in wallsy's book.

kin idiot.

Re:P-platers
This is the same Freo team that Wallsy tipped to finish 3rd this season?

I'm starting to believe that every year certain footy commentators make a point of tipping freo and st.kilda to make the GF, simply to give themselves a chance to write stories about their years of underachievement, flawed culture and poor list from rd 5 onwards.

Re:P-platers
Walls on Fremantle-"...Too many old, undisciplined, lazy, unfit, uncommitted players"

Would he care to name just one? Objectively I am seriously struggling to put a name to that. Or perhaps he just made it up. Imagine that.

Re:P-platers
Too old - there are a couple of players over 30.

Undisciplined - umpires are never wrong

Lazy - I saw Solomon just lying in the middle of the ground against Richmond

Unfit - Keep in mind that this is a picture of a fat man

Uncommitted - well, no one has been sent to a rehab facility yet.

" Lazy - I saw Solomon just lying in the middle of the ground against Richmond "

The next time Dean is a patient of mine I will have to bring up this incident. Sleeping on the job and on national TV. At least he "woke up" in time to play some decent footy :)

***********************************************************
"Undisciplined - umpires are never wrong"

The umpires are never wrong in regard to the Victorian football teams. If your team is not from Victoria. Well.... that is another story.

************************************************************
"Unfit - Keep in mind that this is a picture of a fat man"

You must be talking about Palmer. I am sure after running from end-to end several times during a game without stopping I saw him stop for a brief nanosecond to catch his breath
************************************************************

" Uncommitted - well, no one has been sent to a rehab facility yet."

That's is a problem. I am sure Ben would have loved a roomie from the Fremantle Dockers. I know Pav has been contemplating getting the same tattoo than Ben Cousins has across his abdomen.

Re:P-platers
I hope people realise that when you read articles by Robert Walls you actually lose brain cells.
The Worst is negligent with not putting a warning similar to what's on cigarette packets at the start of each of Wall's articles

Re:P-platers
You mean a warning as in a nasty graphic picture of Walls or what will happen to you if you read too much of his carp?

Solly only had a catnap. Surely the lazy one is Haze. I mean he played 3/4 of a scratchy then takes the rest of the year off! And don't get me started on Tubby Pav or Palmer playing with all that bling in his head.

Re:P-platers
It's no wonder Bailey is 'unruffled' - do the Melbourne media even know who he is?

Re:P-platers
I don't think you've gone far enough there Ellement. Wallsy is not the lone cancerous growth coming from that paper. The WA police need to wipe out the Worst before it influences and infects any more unsuspecting football fans.

Re:P-platers
The question is how many of the coaching selection panels for the coaches in question did Wall sit on? Then read the article.
It's a joke.

Re:P-platers
harves gets a season to gain credibility as a coach? it'll be much longer than that before wallsy gets credibility as a journalist.

Re:P-platers
I like this comment from Wallsy on Essendon:

"The team, too, is younger and will take a couple of years before it starts to realise its potential."

Surely he's not suggesting that you need an older list to achieve, while at the same time bagging Freo for its older list?

Re:P-platers
The difference between the oldest and the youngest is nly 18 months isn't it. There seems to be an optimal 2 week period which the average of your list must fall between.

It's difficult to predict though because it shifts depending on who is on top of the ladder.
