I have been a member of the FFC from the start guys, as many here have, and I am disappointed at some of the comments that have been posted. Yes I too face the jibs, jokes and ridicule at work so what. ^%^&* Give it back to them.
My clubs whole existence has been ridiculed and beaten from pillar to post by all and sundry in the football community at various times in its history, now is no different) so what.
I am not delusional, the playing group and coaching staff needs to have a long hard look at them selves
But when your team is down its when YOU the supporters should be HERAD THE LOUDEST! And your club COLOURS need to be seen. We played in a preliminary final one game off the big dance; or do we all have such short memory’s?
So I say let the media and Joe public have their frenzy, the FFC WILL SUCCEED and the ultimate prize will be ours
Great works are performed, not by strength, but by perseverance." Dr. Samuel Johnson
Nothing in the world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. The slogan, 'press on' has solved, and always will solve, the problems of the human race." Calvin Coolidge
Far better it is to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs even though checkered by failure, than to rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy nor suffer much because they live in the gray twilight that knows neither victory nor defeat. Theodore Roosevelt (1858 - 1919)
They can conquer who believe they can. Virgil (70 BC - 19 BC)
It is the character of a brave and resolute man not to be ruffled by adversity and not to desert his post. Cicero
"I do not think there is any other quality so essential to success of any kind as the quality of perseverance. It overcomes almost everything, even nature." John D. Rockefeller

I agree.
Saw Harves ON the Couch. He is a proud man and an honest man but most of all he still believes. Wallsie was some what tentative in his approach with Harves- me thinks he might have been intimidated by Harves a wee bit.
Cold hard facts are that we arent that great at the moment but Harves and the team will get better. Our time will come. It may not be now and it may not be this year but when it does happen, and it will happen, it will all be worth it and it'll be the best damn grand final win in the history of AFL...
Supporters just need to hang in there and support and ride the storm. For those who say that it is too long then consider that Swans had not won a flag for 72 years or something ridiculous. Melbourne havent won a flag for years.....St Kilda are still waiting since the 60's. It's a long time between flags in the AFL.
Times are tough and all that right now but hey once a supporter always a supporter.

I also agree, saw harvey as well,he was asked some tough questions and i thought he handled himself well. Will be the man to make some tough decisions at the end of this year. The only messages i recieved were from eagle supporters and when i replied where were they on the ladder the responce i got was we havent played melb yet

Couldn't agree more with this post. At first I was dumbstruck at the end of the Melbourne game to the point I was shaking my head at my beautiful new TV (bought at Rick Hart's of course - got a great deal!). Now, I can't wait for the next time the Dockers play. Perhaps our players would have done better had they been able to hear me screaming encouragement through my TV. I'm taking my licks right now, but rest assured, I'll be bringing that emotion to the next home game where I'll be one of thousands doing the same. I can't wait.
Call it self-flagellation if you like, but I've listened to the haranguing that's been going on the radio. I've heard my coach and my team take a pasting by dumb-a** journalists and commentators. The way I see it, I didn't choose to support this club - the club chose me and there's nothing I can do about it.
Hang in there chums. It's a dark tunnel, but I did see some light - Captain Pav's performance; a couple of the young kids playing though pain; Mark Johnson's desperation (though I'm not entirely sure he has it anymore, it's still inspiring to see a guy throw himself at a ball); Solly's toughness. And if you think it is blind optimism that I'm writing about now, think about this: Did anyone see Pav give up? I didn't so why should you? I'm sure the coaches will get into the psyche of the players over the next couple of weeks, so have trust that they know what they're doing.

I love Harvey, my husband understands!
I owe Harvey an apology, I was so wrapped when he was appointed as our Coach. Yay, a tough coach that has earnt respect through the game. I also expected that Freo, from Round 1, was going to be brilliant.
I didn't give Harvey time to "rebuild" and with this there will be hiccups. We are on our way to brilliance, and consistent brilliance it will be.
I am sorry Harvey, I now understand that this will take time. I will wait, it will come. In the mean time thank you for Palmer, Ibbotson and all of the others you have brought into the game so far.

In only one game this season has Fremantle not been either in front or within a goal of the opposition deep into the second half ...this suggests that they are "close" to being the top 4 side that just about every expert and bookie had them as at the start of the season ...
Palmer and Ibbo both look like they will be good midfielders ...Mayne has also done impresive things ...
Have a think back to what Geelong was like in 2006...it doesn't take much to go from zeroes to heroes ...the coaching staff and the players at Fremantle must concentrate on toughening up the side mentally so that they are always (4 quarters) playing better football than the opposition ...if they cant do it ...then keep replacing them with others who do ...
Bleed Purple , Play four quarters

There is one thing I love about this club above all else.
Even when we lose momentum, or the engine starts to suck up rust from the bottom of the fuel tank, our team grits their teeth and gives it their absolute all until the very last.
I watched the game and was as broken as everyone else. The one saving grace was the amount of skin a lot of our boys took off in the final minutes of the last quarter and the passion in their eyes. We did lose momentum but never the will to keep swinging.
That's commitment.
That's OUR club.
That's why we stay to the final siren - because our boys are there too.
Any team can work on skills, fitness, ruck etc and we certainly need to. What we have cannot be so easily gained.
The Slime are honestly a case in point - they start to lose and their players pack off, pubs around the nation are littered with half filled glasses of shar-don-aye and we are left looking for someone to stick our latest derby victory to.

I love Harvey, and my wife understands. I love you guys too, the purple army. Thanks to all of you for reminding me of what it is to be a Dockers fan. Everyone who has posted to this thread and to Morgan's thread should be congratulated and the players should be given this and Morgan's thread to read just so they know that we are here and we're not going anywhere.
After sipping so long at the bitter cup of disappointment our evetual victory will be so much sweeter.
I look forward to hearing you all at Subi after the bye.

i am thinking after 13 years of s***, we have a well fertilised garden, could we grow already. i'm sick of our boys being the whipping boys and laughing stock.
we need to dig a bit deeper. and some of these boys need to find their centre. i say mark harvey has to find the guys that want to play. some of them are barely turning up, week in week out. put them in the bloody wafl, i'd rather watch some kids trying their hearts out and getting flogged for a season or two, than some overpriced showponies with loads of talent but no desire, trot around a footy field.
pain brings growth and realisation. hasleby is right, the culture needs to change, i don't know how that can be accomplished, performance based contracts maybe?

it cuts me when a lot of our supporters are overly negative after a loss like this. we all hurt as much as each other, and that loss cut me to the bone, but i still love the boys and will be at the next game no matter what! i'll even be in melbourne to watch them the week after!
what was said at the start of the thread was right, these tough times are when the team needs the supporters the most.
lets no be fair weather supporters or bandwagoners, but put the hard yards in to support our team now. It will make the times of success even sweeter!

Mr Purple I agree. I have lived my life by Calvin Collidge's saying and that has gotten me through some very testing times - medical, physical and mental. The Dockers are young compared to some other clubs and eventually we will see success if we combine to assist the club. Criticism is OK if it is delivered privately or if, in public, it is constructive. I, as a sponsor and member, have delivered criticism to the club, but would never reveal what I said to others. Go Dockers and it's strong supporters!!

All I can say at times like these is that I hope everyone (the media, the haters, Robert No-Balls) enjoys it while it lasts.
Because one day the Fremantle Football Club is going to refuse the take this carp anymore, they're going to pick up their big stick and they're going to run roughshod all over this thing.
It's the thought of that day - and the absolute buffet of crow that every naysaying, know it all Freo-bashing twat will have no choice but to chew on - is what gets me through the darker days.
'Cause without darkness there can be no light, and all that bizz.

deep down underneath it all we are all just football romantics here aren't we. Isn't it grand...And they say that we are a bunch of hooligans us FREO supporters, a wee bit ferrel. I think NOT.....
It's about shoving up the rest of the footy world's behind and rising to the top of the pile and knowing we did it without their help and well wishes (now there some poetry for you).
Remember that the whole of the footy world were on Melbournes side on Sunday trying to help raise membership and increase numbers at the G. Will they do that for us here at FREO... Have they ever done that here at FREO for us during our hard times... I think NOT again. It has been us supporters here at Freo that supported year in year out and renewed our memberships and came to games even though we lost....
It will be poetic justice when our day comes and us true supporters will know we were there from the beginning....
