Re:Interchange
maybe, but the coach's pre-game address at St Kilda would have to be replaced by a sexual harassment seminar.

Mr Smiley my 9 y.o. son wants to know why that man who is singing needed a hat in the first place. Do you have any idea?

That song made so much sense 25 years ago.

Re:Interchange
I have no idea what that song means, Hypen... in fact, I have no idea what any of this whole mess means... but I can't get it out of my head.

Oh... I have no sound on my work 'puters, so I can't share that special pleasure with you all. I'm operating on memory.

You can dance if you want to...

Re:Interchange
I just watched that clip all the way through (still no sound, I'm not that silly) and, quite apart from it being eerily reminiscent of a couple of parties I've been to, it has the AFL written all over it.

From umpires dancing in waving hankies to the Andrew and Adrian puppet show, it covers everything.

'and if they don't dance
well they're
no friends of mine'

Superb.

Some of you who missed the 80s must realise what a loss it is for you now, eh?

"...They tink I'm Sloow 'cos I'm from Canaadaa..."

Ah, the safety dance, right up there. A special shout out to a mate of mine from School, the pig-skinned gnome, for appearing in that video. Top work, champ.

Re:Interchange
So, anyone have anything to say about this new development in the game now?

Personally, I have it bracketed under 'fiasco'.

Re:Interchange
You're too kind.

How many blokes sprinted for the interchange only to be sent back because, I assume, the photstat machine had run out of toner.

Nearly all of them.

Although, it must be said, the last photo I saw of Adrian Anderson showed healthy skin tone. Draw your own conclusions.

I like the Smartrider idea. If you don't tag off, you are penalised the full cash fare.

Re:Interchange
Just a terrible system. If the clubs do eventually start getting things right in regards to interchanges, there are still going to be massive delays in getting players replaced. All this paperwork is way over the top and I have no idea how the AWFL made the decision to introduce such a shoddy, half baked system. And here I was thinking they had stuffed around with the rules as much as anyone could.

Re:Interchange
It was very interesting sitting about 5 rows behind the dog's bench yesterday. There was a great deal of confusion as to who was and wasn't to be coming off. The dog's certainly seemed to make a meal of it with many very frustrated looking players doing some sort of constipated polka type dance on the edge of the boundary fearful that one wrong step would result in a penalty. The little fat man for the dogs whose job was to hand the names of the interchange to the umps looked like he was in the middle of a full on heart attack the whole game.

The Dockers on the other hand seemed to have very little difficulty with it at all.

As far as I can see the only good that will come of this rule change is the plethora of opportunities it gives us to bellow insults at the opposition players caught looking stupid on the boundary wondering why they can't get at that drink bottle that is oh so close.

Re:Interchange
The doggies interchange was a complete joke ALL afternoon, and I was 2 rows back from the fat man in blue. I kept looking up to our interchange area and it all seemed to be going relatively smoothly, was it under the direction on Prior? Couldn't quite tell from my distance. Anyway, the whole crowd in 101 was getting in on the confusion, and working them over.

All my sledges were completey wasted when we lost that match, dammit. I hate that.

Re:Interchange
Your sledges looked pretty good from behind though, Blocker.

We had a few go wrong... but our players were dealing with the confusion fairly well. I saw Taz get sent back out before coming off, and a couple of others but I can't remember who. I can't remember much about yesterday, come to think about it... didn't we win?

Re:Interchange
Scott Thornton bolted from full back only to be turned away at the gates. But you never know with him, sometimes I think he just likes to run somewhere.

Re:Interchange
It's a damning reflection on the current management of the game to have hastily introduced such a dog's breakfast of a change mid season.

It's a disgrace. They should be sacked... what do they stand for, after all?

I fuly expect a series of long drawn out inbreaths and sighs from Robert Walls ont he couch tonight over this, but someone else will have to watch for me. I can't do it anymore.

If it was so common, people may be alarmed at how poorly thought out the whole thing has been.
