I am flying out midnight tonight (thursday) first time to Melbourne so it will be my first time to the dome as well. As I am going by myself are there any plans for drinks before or after the game? What pub do most football fans goto that is close to the dome?

Just follow the Punky Brewsters or the Purple Jesus banner after the game or failing that follow the clinking Duty Free if I get it past the noses of the telstra Dome staff. Usually there is an informal meet up the end where the Freo Cheer squad sit on the mezzanine floor bar after the game.. I happened to be at the airport last night when the team arrived they where all in good spirits, I am sensing a big win. Bring it on.
