Allison is right.
And I think this is one of the saddest threads I've ever read on this site.
Who can forget the look on Benny's face when Josh loomed up next to him and then into him at a famous derby? It led Cousins directly on the path to madness. Not that it was a very long path.
Let the guy go. Remember the cheeky little bogger as he was.

I liked CC. But Josh and Matts father and I used to cross paths at work 18 mths ago. He told me CC was trying to get Matt out back then. Who knows Allison it could have cheesed Josh off. His mrs is from SA and if he wants to live there...we should remember the good times and let him go.

Josh is a footballing mercenary. In the sense of paid guerrilla.
He did a brilliant job for us like no-one else could. Largely because of his skill as an in-your-face niggling stand-over man, we lost our reputation as a physically soft team. Job done.
If he wants another militia to fight for - let him. If he plays on, I'll be watching.
His balling-playing skill isn't that shabby, either.

If only Josh had shown the same consideration when he came to Freo orignally. We could have got him for nothing in the PSD four years ago instead of trading three draft picks to Port. More fool Freo.

Rogerbelly, when J Carr arrived at Freo he was a 25 years old Vice Captain of the current premiership team. He turns 29 in April next year and is the Vice Captain of a 13th placed team. He has a nasty tribunal record hanging over his head and the style game has moved on. I'd say his market value is somewhat diminished.

bluepup, is his market value zero? Not even worth a 4th round pick, one that Port may not even use? The problem is that he never even gave us the chance to test that value by not making himself available for a medical. He's been talking to Port since early/mid season. He's had this planned for a very long time.

Don't believe the port propaganda RB, it was just an excuse.
By the way Larkin, we actually offered pick 56 (or something like it) for Kepler, which was higher than the one we took him at.

I don't understand the issue.
There is no down side for Freo to draft him in the PSD, But Significant upside for Port Adelaide if we don't.
He is a good player. By not drafting him we make a competitor much stronger.
PA and Carr are playing games with Freo. Pick him up. If he plays another year for Freo....Great. If he retires.....bring on a rookie.

I'm with wiz. winning is about beating the opposition. beating the opposition is about trying to be stronger, and trying to make them weaker. we've certainly got room on the list and in the salary cap to have carr on the list. the issue is, do we pick him up in the draft at the expense of picking up, say, Lovett. I'd have to say, no. Carr downs one opponent for, what, 2 years? Lovett boosts us for, say, 3 or 4. nine out of ten, the net gain is leaving josh. but if there's no-one else worth a punt, take carr.

In retrospect, he'd clearly made up his mind to leave before or on the day the Tiges gave us a thrashing - that he he played like he was already elsewhere.
