Look, I know we are meant to hate all things Eagle....and I mostly do, really hate everything to do with them. But I have to confess, I can't bring myself to dislike David Wirrapanda.
He plays fair, he plays well, he had a joke or two with Hayden, and when Hayden went down hard, and looked like he may have hurt himself, Wirra helped him up.

Wirra has always been an honest footballer. He would be the only egirls player that I have admired.

I agree Marked. There were two moments during the match when my respect for Wirra went up a few notches:
(i) When Wirra tried to soccer the ball through the goals only to miskick and have Hayden spoil it, both shared a smile about what had happened.
(ii) When Hayden went down in a marking contest with Wirra, and looked seriously hurt, Wirra helped him back up.
What's this guy still doing with the Eagles?!!

Yes indeed - along with Dean Cox and possibly Ashley "marks on wing on boundary line mean I'm a champion CHF" Hansen, the only other Eagle worthy of admiration and the avoidance of hate. Very nice guy, too.
Shut down Kerr and those two, and the term "autumn leaves" comes to mind...

So two of the nicest guys in their side are Victorians?? he,he. I like Wirrapanda too. He wants to go into politics, so we might get to vote for him one day.

The whole game seemed to be played in good spirit - Wirrapand and Hayden weren't the only ones enjoying a good-spirited contest out there. Is this the New Eagles? Or just the lack of influence of the Spiritual Leader?

I saw it.
Totally undisciplined act and another example of why Freo are going to struggle this year.

David Wirrapanda is a class act - came to our school to speak to the kids and was very impressive and took ribbing from Freo supporterts with good humour.

Think it was Brett Jones who Wiz had the tangle with and they helped each other up. He seemed to be chatting friendly like with Pav after the game also.

Steady on guys, this is not some kind of love-in is it? I mean, we still hate them, don't we?

Look, we're showig graciousness and good manners in victory, something not seen in this town for a while from the Tainted Premiers, though we are verging on being patronising on this thread.
Eagles suck.
Wirra's a gent.

Top effort by Wirra. Wet Toast supporter near me screamed out - "Don't pick him up, kick him!" They are by a very long margin the most despicable supporters in the land.

And don't forget the third sporting thing Wirra did (which make me suspect he might be a secret Dockers fan) was kicking Cox's foot... beautiful work with the skillful disguise only a master of the game could manage. I can't believe he's becoming my favourite player.
