If you guys go to the www.afl.com.au website, it has been declared that there will be no trading done this week with Josh Carr, as he is overseas on holidays atm. Because he is overseas no one can negotiate with him or the clubs until he is present, thats why he wasnt at the doig medal, and that is why we wll get nothing for him come PSD time.

Dunno - we picked up Solly when he was overseas during trade week.
I've always appreciated what Josh did for the club - bailing out after all the 'the old dog needs to learn some new tricks' crap coming out of the club during his suspension; the dumping of Matt; Black (et al) wouldn't have given a proud man much option I feel.
Full marks to the club for keeping a lid on things, but dislike Josh? Never.

I'm afraid I never liked the way Josh played - considered him dirty and I'm afraid he appears to be like that off field. Very disappointed he wasn't at Doig medal night either - I thought he was meant to be our vice captain for 2008. Doesn't appear to have much loyalty to the club - was only interested in playing with his brother, used FFC to achieve that and now gives us the flick.
GOOD bye Josh

I reckon that'd be making an assumption about his levels of pride, polly.
Given the way he's ditched freo, and hindsight and form suggests he's shot through as soon as his brother left, I'd suggest he's more of a mercenary.
Longmuir always carried on with pride and professionalism after Shortmuir was dumped.
Thinking about it, though, we don't know all the machinations and dynamics at the club this year. Given the clear out, I'm not so sure the youth policy is one for it's own sake. You've got to consider there were sections of the playing group that Harvey had given ultimatums to.

He's a dog...but he was our dog.
Having said that, it's always very noble of a player to declare that he'll look after the club in the trade but it's a bit like the cow telling the butcher he'll try and get him a good price for the steak. Port Adelaide have consolidated their place as second spot of clubs that should be deregistered.

How apt, in trade week, where the analogy of players to meat, is apparent.
As for dogs, he's lucky he didn't play in vietnam.

It's become ungoogled, Guy.
But if it's the distasteful article I found, can we think of the poor little fella, as 'Little Joshy'?

Surely there is someone at the club that has their finger on the pulse. Not a surprise since there was talk about this around May. He didn't seem happy when Matty announced his retirement. Now that he is engaged to his partner it seems logical he would go back to SA. If I was him I would try and get some cash for another couple of seasons.

I have to say I am pretty disgusted at the behaviour of Josh.
The club went to considerable lengths to get him so he could play with his brother, then once Matt retired, he wants out back to Port.
Mind you, he has form. Anyone remember how he told his Port 'team-mates' straight after their GF win in 2004 that he was p*ssing off to play for Freo?? That's loyalty for you.
My only consolation is that of the three draft picks Port got from us for him, 2 are no longer at the club and the 3 combined have played less than 30 games between them.
But for him to say he wanted the club compensated for his move, then bugger off overseas to avoid both the club awards and due diligence being done on his fitness, really shows his true character. Actually, the sort of character that would make him a good leader at the 'smears.
Good riddance you dirty, little pr*ck and I look forward to seeing you becoming slower, angrier and sitting out more games than you play due to suspensions.
As for Port, karma is a wonderous thing and your dirty tactics will come back to bite you when it counts. Mark my words!!

Due diligence is a word used by people like Peter Rohde to justify their duplicity... you realise that Jason?

Be that as it may, Guy, if Josh was physically HERE at least that would force Rohde's come up with a better excuse to screw us over.
I'm with a few others - if they won't trade (I'd take a pick in the late 50's - we got Kepler like that last year) we pick up Josh via the PSD and effectively end his career. Who's going to miss him?? Eyebrows and others at AwFL House who are trying to turn footy into netball won't miss him, that's for sure
OR, we threaten to pick him up via the PSD, forcing Josh to put a price on his head (we can afford a bit with all the retirements) that we won't pay and thereby stuff up Port's salary cap for a few years.
There's more than one way to exact your revenge....

Yeah... there is, but the whole due diligence thing is a handy excuse. Other clubs, including us, have signed players up whilst away.
I dunno what Josh's attitude to all this is but I'll happily boo the crappers out of him if he plays us next year, while I wouldn't boo Medders or Polly, for example. If you want someone to get a message it pays to boo the crappers out, I always say.
Port, under Choco, have become Slimelike in their Slimeness. As Shane has said, they are now the second candidate for deregistration. I'm sure they're bringing the name into disrepute... for a start, they keep playing The Chad. It's a regular Chadorama down there at Alberton.
Choco came out and said Josh would be welcome at Port a few months back. Then, when it looked like a done deal thanks to Josh announcing his desire to go nice and early, Choco backs down and starts spouting things related to age. Personally, I reckon he's right, Josh's best days are gorn, but that's beside the point... I didn't come out and pump his tyres months earlier. Choco's a two faced buffoon for his outbursts, really... the only thing missing from his repertoire now is a public bursting into tears episode.

I have been off Joshy for a while. There has been no passion in his game. He really needed to show some loyalty, and look as though he wanted to be out there ... vice captain! Hope we do better in 09!
