I guess the club needs to make a decision, talk to him and let him know his opportunities. If harvs doesn't think he has a regular gig the fair enough, let him go. Though how likely is a fringe player from the side that finished 14th on the ladder to get a regular game at another club?

This is disappointing to say the least. Thought he almost had Buddy type potential but I guess Freo have told him that there's no room in the forward line.

IMO, we're now paying the price for recruiting interstate (Vic) players. Hope we pick up mostly Sandgropers in the trade period - no "homesick" excuse then.

I can understand Kiwi's viewpoint. With Taz and Pav in the side and Murphy challenging for a spot, competition is tough. But he's way ahead of Murphy as far as I'm concerned.

This is a bad and sad loss for our Club.

Poor form by Kiwi (and Warnock, Carr and Mundy for that matter). At least those who care more about themselves than the club will be gone before long and we might start to see some results on the field.

Is there something of an over-reaction going on here? As sad as it would be to lose him, Kiwi played so few games over the last few years for one very good reason.

Time for the administration and the coaching staff to say to each in the playing group "if you don't want to stay then we'll trade you off" no ifs or buts. Also the club should get rid of the dead wood in the playing group and I can think of quite a few. If the club has to recruit 30 new players then so be it. We want players who will give their all and want to play for the Dockers. I'm sick to death of this pathetic self-serving nonsense. If the club has to recruit three quarters of its players from Subi, South Freo, East Freo etc so be it. Make sure they are guys from WA willing and eager to play for the Dockers and have an opportunity at AFL level. If this is not possible then shut the bloody club down. For Godsake! I'm angry!

Everyone best calm down. Kiwi was a fringe player anyway. Now Harvs will be able to impose himself on the club- really give it a rev up. Should have done it at the end of last year. Must say I was disappointed it took so long for all the change to come. Forget the song and colours- it's the players that need to be reshaped and moulded into a mean, win at all costs, no room for second best, won't rest till we have a flag machine. Bring it!

During the Rd 22 game, I checked the record, expecting to see that Kiwi had played about 20-30 games and kicked 30-40 goals. I was amazed to see that was only his 10th game for 12 goals.

He got the one game in 2006, sort of replacing Longmuir, then dropped after a 3 kick, 1 mark, no goals game for Gilmore. Murph came in a few weeks later and kicked 16 goals in 7 games as we won 9 straight, so Kiwi didn't get another go.

Rd 4 2007, again he replaces JLo (after what turned out to be JLo's last game), doesn't do much, misses the next two, then has his best game- 4 goals vs the Hawks (mind you, from only 6 kicks). He gets 2 more goalless games for 3 kicks in each, and is dropped again, as a late change for Webster, in what would be his last game for Freo. Doesn't get another chance, Murph plays 6 of the last 10 games for 3 goals.

So this year, gets a game in Rd 2, as a late inclusion for Mark Johnson. 4 kicks no goals. Dropped the next week for Murphy, who's dropped the following week for Solomon. Then comes back in Rd 19, does OK, kicking 7 in 4 matches.

So he's had 5 stints in the AFL, and flunked 4 times. Murph in this timeframe, outside of his good end to 2006, also has flunked every time, and he's also only had 3 games in a row once in 2007-08, with 6 single games and 4 pairs of games. So I think the idea that Murph gets the gold pass and Kiwi is dumped at first poor game is wrong. I hope they both stay and Murph rediscovers what went right in 2006 and Kiwi realises that he can play like he did vs Haw in 2007 and in glimses in the past 4 rounds this year.

But they've both had their chances and blown it.
