The Pope - great analysis, and words of wisdom. Put into words the "gut feeling" I've had about some fringe players. The general strategy towards the fringers enunciated by Harvey seems to be: "play well and consistently at WAFL level, and you'll get the chance at the senior team. When you get to the seniors, play consistently to stay or else you'll go back to WAFL."

Warnock, Mundy and now Campbell - all good interstate draftees going home - not to worry, just draft Hartlett.

Surely not! Kiwi is ahead of Murphy the only thing is Murphy has publically stated he WANTS to stay at Freo, its seems other have publically said they dont.

Well, I must say....
it does warm the heart to see so many wringing hteir hands and moaning about a Kiwi leaving. Makes a pleasant change.
Now... harden up, princesses. The worry isn't 3rd tier players wanting out, it's having a thinned out and inexperienced list.
Who do we want for him? Don't be shy, ask high.

Are you suggesting Daniel Kerr?

Campbell will be a player no doubt about it. He needed more time to develop - Freo were right to keep him in the WAFL. It's the "what have you done for me lately" attitiude of kids today. No patience, no loyalty no sense of what he owes to the club that drafted and trained him.
See ya.

Isn't Campbell contracted to the end of 2009? A sign that we're willing to invest time in developing him, where other clubs might have delisted him by now?
I'd guess there's not going to be a flood of 1st round pick offers coming our way for him. So why not just keep him? If he can't become a regular by the end of next year it's probably time for us to part ways.
I think he's being a bit unreasonable given his form hasn't been great whenever he's played. But it's a big worry that there's three young players who want to leave the club and head back home. Most clubs have 15 or so players from outside their home state and manage to keep them

Thinking about this for a second will reveal to what extent it is actually "news." Campbell is 24 and has played 10 games. If he has indeed "asked," to be "traded," what would be a suitable trade - pick 4000?
This "news," is nothing more than the regular anti-Fremantle bulldust pedalled out by the media here, and the fact that the general reaction seems to be that 'there must be something wrong with the club because all the players want to leave' gives a fair insight into exactly why every bit of media coverage of Fremantle uses this exact frame.

Well, considering the fact that he kicked Natanui's arse on the weekend, I'd be expecting a top 3 pick.

This is an up and coming player & this MANAGER push for more guarentee game time or trade me to someone who will, because he been told in the review that TAZ is the man not him ( maybe it should be him at CFH )and you cant blame him if he has been told he is the third or four player in line for that position.

Campbell was stunning last weekend - booted the Falcons out of a tough even contest to a 5 goal lead (singlehandedly and in one quarter). I think it is reasonable for a player to want something other than an endless period of 'development' - when is he considered 'developed'? I also think it is unreasonable to infer that Kiwi is not a team player when he has clearly proven otherwise over the journey.
But if we're not going to play him then let him go - if the club is unsure about his abilities after all this time, then they may never be able to work it out.

I reckon they've got a pretty good idea of his abilities. Others, I'm not so sure about. Did I really read him compared to Buddy Franklin or did someone misspell Heatley?

Dont be alarmed people, and dont listen to a single word those @#*! stirring media types are telling us! I have a very good inside source ( never to be named ) that tells me that Mundy has already signed and they are inches away from locking in Campbell. They love to keep WA guessing dont they.

Speaking to a Freo staff member last night, he said the big problem with Campbell is he has no aerobic capacity. When they do 400m run throughs at the club, Kiwi and Mourish bring up the rear by about 100m.
Basically, he leads and then he's fired his shot. Can't double back, and then, if the opposition get the pill he can't really defend.
