AFL umps should take a look at how last nights state of origin was umpired. They presided over a free flowing and exciting spectacle that was a joy to watch. Umpires should be even-handed and fair-minded and remember that a large part of their role is to ensure a free flowing game and not let it get bogged down with penalties that arise from over meticulous officiating.
