Tomorrow Bradd Dalziell will receive the round 20 Rising Star nomination. He is from Fremantle; he trained with Fremantle, I understand he wanted to play for Fremantle - and yet, he does not. Why not?
Pick 52, he was taken at. Yes, the draft is a lottery and blah blah blah. Ability alone wouldn't see you break any record set by Simon Black in a hurry.
Is our club fair dinkum?

Mike, I've heard Freo were going to select him with the pick after Mayne, but Brisbane got in first, so Mark Johnson was selected instead.
Brisbane got pick 52 from Carlton for Richard Hadley. Freo had pick 55.
I'm pretty happy with Palmer, Hinkley and Mayne fwiw.

A better question (with our perfect 20/20 hindsight), would he have been a better rookie list option in 2006 than redrafting Copping? Or Rumble? Or Foster? Or Hinkley?
Shane, can you let us know who's likely to win the Old Easts Magoo's B&F this year, so we know who to draft. Thanks.

A guy named Liam Anthony appears to be fairly highly rated.

No nomination for Dalziell this week. Cale Morton got the nod.

Garrick Ibbotson was runner up a couple of years ago. It's obviously quite the form line.
