Re:2008 National Draft (Phantom)
DeBoer would be disappointing at 21. His disposal is very poor.

Re:2008 National Draft (Phantom)
I like the sound of Zaharakis who a few people of no influence have been joining up to Fremantle. Don't know if he can play, I just like saying Zaharakis.

Re:2008 National Draft (Phantom)
with dean cox getting older, WCE may take NN over Rich. Which would allow us to grab him

Have heard that Yarran is labelled as trouble by most of the interstate clubs, so we may even get a crack at him in round 2.

Re:2008 National Draft (Phantom)
Yarran and Zaharakis would both be very handy. I hope they are still around come second round, but I have a feeling one of the vic club will snap up zaharakis very early.

Re:2008 National Draft (Phantom)
dddocker: I have pearce going early second round to west coast. if not, we take him and lose jetta.
demo1 - I don't know much of lucas... Johnston is good, but there are only a few teams hunting Tall Forwards and there are some better KPP's going around.
just fixed that, thanks demo.

I'm done editing that post.

other names mentioned that i didn't squeeze in are:
Rory Sloan - Eastern Ranges
Jamie Sheehan - Murray

Tom Scully - VIC
Liam Jones - TAS
Declan Bevan - QLD

Re:2008 National Draft (Phantom)
Sorry Sox missed that on your list re Pearce. I hate to say this (again and -------)but we must take Hartlett at 3. Anyway hopefully Bondy and his crew are turned on re this draft. This is one of the best fields and we need to be smart. No duds please Bondy. And "no Victorians" I hear the chorus cry out! But then again we need to pick the best available for our list when it's our turn. Btw Kyanga?

demo1 I don't think Lucas is old enough for this year's draft.

Re:2008 National Draft (Phantom)
kyanga slots in around that pick 101 mark. but if we pick up yarran or ballantyne we shouldn't need kynga. I think by that stage we might be better grabbing some young KPPs, tall backman particularly.

I'm hoping Clancee Pearce will be available at 21. The toast can take their slimy mits off him.

24. Shoenmakers - brilliant! A speedy comet who is not afraid to take on the biggest one floating around.

Re:2008 National Draft (Phantom)
Pearce will go before Walters, Yarran will go to Essendon in the first round (unless we grab him) - Kyanga and Jetta will be the big 'sleepers' this draft; Wolfie (SD) the pick of the decade.

'Yarran considered trouble'...- he's one of the nicest kids playing football, who started that baloney?

I know a lot of us are concentrating on this draft - a great job Sox!

Shhh .. I am starting this baloney, in the hopes that some interstates club scout stumbles across this forum and lets him slide. Go with it.

Re:2008 National Draft (Phantom)
I don't think the Hawks would take another key forward with their first pick, that's the last area we need to fill. An AFL-ready midfielder would do nicely, if not a key backman. Maybe even Zaharakis himself.

Re:2008 National Draft (Phantom)
-Apparently Port have their eye on Tyrone Vickery, as their ruckmen are pretty old. But he'll go early regardless.

-Do we really need another tall forward in shoemaker or whatever his name is? The good ones we've got can hardly get a game. I think we are more in need of a key defender.

-Will Ballantyne really last that long? But then again I doubt the vics rate him.

-Wolfenden should cut his hair.

Re:2008 National Draft (Phantom)
I watched the natinui highlights from the WAFL again recently and really liked the work he did in the forward line. His tackling is a huge advantage and I'm sure he can take a good grab up forward. If we do get him I think he would play well in the pocket, like a resting ruckman, while he develops and can be used in short burst if Sandi or kepler need a rest.

One other thing I did notice was that he and Yarran seemed to combine quite often and some of the goals Yarran kicked were very impressive. I have heard Yarran is lazy though, which could be a problem. But I did think that it would be a good pick up if we were somehow able to get the both of them together in our forward line.

Yarran and Kyanga are quickly becoming victims of what I like to call 'ABC Bias'.
