Wierd absence of Cocky-ness
Strange were coming off a 0-2 start to the season, the toasters at work are a bit quiet on the whole. Not alot of supporter confidence going in to the derby.

How is it for other dockerlanders at work?

Re:Wierd absence of Cocky-ness
I reckon they're as cocky as ever, but quiet as their successes this year aren't on the field, but off it.

They have managed to keep the lid on their 'review' (without penalty), retain Nissie in Head Office, Fong at the WAFC and a tainted 2006 Premiership. Smaller things - like burying Flatline's medical records - also abound.

Re:Wierd absence of Cocky-ness
Look, I normally advocate discretion before a derby... well, before any game but particularly these because you do have to live with the b*****stards after all.

This week, though, I've been going the verbal equivalent of the tonk...although it must be said, it's easy going the tonk when you're facing a pedestrian attack (which is probably what Shane Warne thought when the Kiwis bowled him out just short of a century at the Waca) so I've tried to be judicious with the bat and kept it simple... berate them about the ears with anything solid, really. Best thing about that is, you can't do any permanent damage in that area so litigation is unlikely.

Cocky? I am. I will, however, be a gentleman if we lose and let them know I'm going to whack them before I do it.

I'm with you, Guy. I went looking for the clips from Derby 26 (Boys Don't Cry & Moving Pictures) to send to various colleagues, but the links I'd bookmarked from the old Dockerland site don't work - can we get 'em back please Shane?

Re:Wierd absence of Cocky-ness
Thanks Shane. Ahh sweet memories, geez is miss seeing Thornton running out of defence.
How could WC supporters be cocky when they cast there mind back to last year or even last week for that matter.
Roll on Saturday!!!

Yes Freo are 0-2 and the WCEs are 1-1 but really who looked better last weekend? IMHO it wasn't the girls.

Re:Wierd absence of Cocky-ness
I love this. I wouldn't support any other team but the Freo Dockers no matter what. Since I couldn't get tickets to the Derby this weekend I will be looking forward to the next home game. As far as I am concerned... Freo rocks. Now I am still trying to figure out how I can get a job with Fremantle as their team nurse. I am sure they could use a good RN on board :)

There's something very "Captain Pugwash" about that last one Shane.

Re:Wierd absence of Cocky-ness
After doing some careful video analysis (ie. by watching those clips) it seems to me that if the ball bounces in the goal square and Josh Carr puts it through for a goal then the Dockers will win.
