wet weather
Saturday could be wet and therefore slippery. Might require a Webster type (remember him?) or others who can hold their feet and the ball in a tough encounter.

Re:wet weather
The perfect game for MK II to come out and dominate the weazles. A melbourne boy with a bit of agro should go well in a wet derby.

Re:wet weather
Just looked up the bureau of meterology and this was the weather report:

Friday Showers developing. Min 15 Max 25
Saturday Showers. Min 16 Max 25
Sunday Shower or two. Min 15 Max 25

Who will this favour?

Re:wet weather
Good point shane. Farmers do love the rain!

Well if our supposed lack of pace is an issue and if the toast were looking to exploit us in that area then maybe a soggy surface might swing things further to our advantage.

Re:wet weather
I agree. What did Luke Webster do wrong? (maybe his coleslaw wasn't up to standards at the team BBQ) he defiantly deserves another shot. if not bring on Brock O'Brian.

A BOG for peel on the weekend and he's a tough aggressive youngster who showed last year he's not afraid of getting dirty.

Re:wet weather
Definite defiance could be Luke's issue...... And BOG for perennial cellar dweller Peel is nothing to write home about.

The chances of getting dirty on Subi Oval these days are next to nil - even in torrential rain. It ain't Moorabbin.

If Mark Johnson comes in, they have lost the plot.

A loss to the team who was one kick away from the GF last year on their home dung heap (does Collingwood play anywhere else?) and a loss to the only team in the comp who could currently claim to challenge Geelong and people are requesting changes like they're napkins.

The 'system' at the stoppages - if indeed one exists - either doesn't work or is not being adhered to. It's not rocket science, and it can't be, we're dealing with footballers.

People carp on about decision making as though footballers are performing brain surgery out there. If you have a quality game plan, then a lot of the decisions are already made, you just go out there and execute. Yes, decisions still need to be made in the heat of battle, but the game plan provides the framework for the not so clever (read most footy players) to operate in. Team rules also need to be implemented and adhered to.

You can have all the, 'he's played well in the WAFL', fantasies you like, but until every single player adheres to the team rules and game plan it doesn't matter who you've got out there. Look at Geelong - the same best 22 went from 10th in 06 to number 1 in 07 after Paul Chapman and a few of his mates in the blue and white hoops stated the bleeding obvious and came clean about not be a cohesive team oriented, game plan following unit.

If that's the reply when someone asks about the weather, remind me not to discuss religion or politics with Rookie.

The conditions may favour the rogue in Josh.
Perhaps he can slip into a few.

Re:wet weather
I think Luke was a bit of a statue in his last game for us. Don't know if he has more movement these days. But a report on his last WAFL game was promising. But there are others who are deserving. As for Rookie nice work. But Michael Johnson? As for getting dirty I think the issue really is slippery and a game plan for a slippery day might be different to a fine day in March. How about gloves for every player and a change after every score. I'm joking.

I thought we were discussing religion and politics....

Fair call Shane, but I had read a number of other threads with umpteen (just how many is that?) posts calling for John Smith to be called into the team because he looked good in purple shorts once and when I got to this one and talk of Luke Webster, Brock O'Brien and Mark Johnson came up I hit the reply button and a cathartic release occured!

Apologies for the blunder on Michael as opposed to Mark. I really need to learn to touch type so I can actually see what is happening when I'm banging away at random kekahne noe iefengihre rihnfgrnvrnvnvrevj...
