Rove started his show tonight with a heartfelt congrats to his cousin Shaun on his farewell match and got his audience to cheer the 33-point win to Freo.

It was picked up later on by Rove's guest Bert Newton(whom I now no longer regard as a nob) who said he'd always admired Shaun McManus' never-say-die style of play and had watched three quarters of the game today cheering him on without realising he was Rove's cousin.

On a Melbourne-based comedy chat-show which has nothing to do with football, and which is normally quite cynical and disparaging in its humour, they were genuinely honouring Macca... and doing a better job of it than any of the football media.

Rove was our number one ticket holder a few years back, did a bloody good job of it too ,mentioning us on the show , and at one stage have a bet on air with the Kangas no 1 at the time ( a pollie i think? ...anyone?)
give him the number one ticket again I reckon.
