It's been a strange week.
The Perth media would swear blind (obviously it's a Monday morning so they'd probably only swear tanked at this stage) that they could tell you what Heath Black had had for breakfast, where Shaun McManus buys his underpants and, last year, the inner most thoughts of Matthew Pavlich and his future contracts. Yet they didn't get a sniff that Pavlich might not play on Sunday. I would have thought that was their job but I'm obviously wrong because this morning we get to find out what everyone can pretty much work out - McManus will retire this year at some point.
Fair enough though, if you can fins an easy way to do your job then why not take it.
Which brings me around to the Eagles and their cone of silence.
They won't say what they're doing with Daniel Kerr's punishment, they hold closed training sessions on Monday and Tuesday nights and now they've signed up Lynch and Rosa (God knows why) but they won't say how long for. And when I visited their website, the only thing that loaded up was an ad for something called Eagle Eye. Should I be afraid?
Now I realise that the Eagles form has dropped because of AFL sanctions sapping their confidence (I know because the radio told me) but is there any chance that someone in the free press might put this mob under some degree of scrutiny?
You know, like the do with everyone else.
